Pre-built computer or build my own? (Gaming PC)? I have about $500 set aside for a gaming rig. Not something over the top that runs anything you throw at it, but just basic games that run with about medium quality. Games like MW3, World of Warcraft, League of Legends - and that's basically it. Should I just buy a pre-built gaming rig like the ones from CyberpowerPC.com, iBuypower.com -stuff like that and upgrade later when I get more money. Or build one from the ground up. Buy all the parts and build from there. Thanks
what should i get a macbook or build my own gaming pc? I have the choice to get a macbook air 13" or the macbook pro 13" or build my own gaming desktop? The desktop is cheaper and has much better specs. I want to use the macbook for light gaming e.g. minecraft and use the software that comes with it like iphoto and it will be used for general use to if i get a desktop it will be battlefield 3 minecraft and left 4 dead 2 and general use. The macbooks are out of my budget but because they have amazing build quality potability and great software i would be happy to purchase one. The deskop is in my budget the parts are £830.
Building a Custom Gaming PC? Hi, i'm making the switch from console gaming to PC, i'm building my own PC to try to save some money and get the experience of building my own PC. I would like some advice as to witch hardware such as CPU's GPU's i should buy. Any input and help is appreciated. First off like i said its going to be a gaming computer i want to be able to play any new pc game on the highest setting possible without problem. Id personally would like dual graphics cards but if i could get it done with one that would be good too. Also i want to be able to go beyond 1080p. i've heard of 4k HD, but is there higher?? if so i would like the ability of my computer to support it. Ive read that some games depend more on CPU than GPU? Which brings me to the question of which CPU? Ive heard Intel is a little better but AMD is cheaper? Now to the computer case/chasis? i would like something that looks cool w/ alot of room and nice ventilation and cooling but at a low cost. And what about sound cards? i havent done much research on these but some custom PC's that i've seen other people build, a sound card wasn't bought or on the list? Motherboards? RAM? HDD? Optical Drive? Also, cooling? what options do i have should i go with water cooling or Heatsinks? Whats best cost/performance?. This is basically all i have at the moment, there are still a number of things i know i have to keep in mind... Help?
How do I build my own gaming PC? Everyone keeps telling me to build one rather than getting a custom or buying a prebuilt. Problem is, I don't have any dedicated computer parts stores nearby let alone any knowledge of this kind of venture. How do I do this without going over a 1k budget or seriously messing something up?
A Good Website to Build Your Own Gaming PC? Bought my Alienware PC back in 2005 now I need a new gaming rig. I payed around $1,300.00 back then but my budget is limited not even near to what i payed before. Any websites?
Building my own Gaming PC? Nothing extremely fancy. I don't want the best of the best, well... I wouldnt mind, but i dont have that sort of money. I'm after the type of specs that can run games like skyrim and call of duty competantly, with no lag, and reasonable quality, i would say a console's standards roughly in terms of fps ect. Now i live in england, so I'd rather you tell me in £ (Pounds) But i can look at the parts you name from a british source. Thanks alot dudes/dudettes! Sam!
I want to build my own gaming PC, but am a total noob hardware-wise.? So, I want a custom built PC, preferably one that I can use for both gaming and my studies. But I literally have no idea of what the best components are, because I usually just accept desktops as they come. Anyone care to suggest the most awesome: hard drive - CD-ROM Drive - Processor - Processor Cooling Fan - Motherboard - Memory Modules - Power Supply - (I was thinking Colors-IT 650w Titan 12CM Neon Power Supply, 'cause yes, I want to be lame and have a perspex case with LEDs and neons all through it....) Video Card/ Optical drives/ Graphics card - (I was thinking Inno3D nVIDIA GeForce GTX260 (192) Graphics Card - 896MB GDDR3 - PCI-E - 448-Bit - Dual DVI - VISTA READY - 576MHz GPU - 2000MHz Memory clock ¿ HDCP) - any arguments for or against? and probably CPU cooling compounds - and you know, if I've missed any vital components..FOR GOD'S SAKE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I thank ye of the nerdy persuasion for enlightening me =P ... if you cbf, that is. As for a budget, I intend to have this as a project that will take a fairly long time. I'm perfectly fine buying it component by component.. btw, I'm from Australia.. so I'm definitely not going to be doing anything in pounds XD Let's say, for the moment, though, that I have neither excessive funds, nor am I beggarly on the street... so mid-range prices are really where I want to be at. I don't have specifics just now, because it's something I've recently decided to do.

Is it worth building my own gaming PC or just sticking with my Xbox? Hi, Tomorrow I'm going to the store to get all the components to build my PC and it's going to cost roughly £600 (I'm 16 so it's quite a bit of money for me), I was going to be building a gaming one and it is going to be a good one, but I also have a Xbox 360 but I really only go on it to play Halo Reach and talk to friends, Do you think it'll be worth making this PC? Games always seem to be cheaper on PC (literally some games like Dead Island is £20 to pre-order on PC) So do you think I should build it? if I did what good exclusive PC games should I get? Thanks.
Besides a lot of money, what all do I need to build my own gaming PC? My income tax money came, and I feel like building my own PC in the future. However, not sure what I should look for. Can someone list out what I need and what to look out for? Other than having a build of your own needs, what would you say are some other benefits to building a custom PC? And finally, is Windows 8 good for having and navigation, does it only have weird metro theme, or should I try to find a copy of Windows 7?
On a Budget: Build My Own Gaming PC or Buy One? I'm looking to spend $800ish on the tower(Graphics Card, Ram, Mobo, PSU, and CPU). I already have a ATX mid tower case, SATA Hard Drive, Monitor, keyboard/mouse, and a 20x DVD Burner picked out. I been looking around and I'm not sure if I should build the pc myself or just buy a gaming pc. With your answer I would like detailed reasons and links. For example if you think I'd be better off buying a gaming pc then I'd like links to a few you would recommend in that price range. If you think I'll get more bang for my buck building it myself then I'd like you to name the specific parts to buy, links would be helpful. I want a motherboard that is crossfire or sli capable depending on which gpu is recommended, and upgradeable. Only a detailed answer will be chosen, and I appreciate your help. Here's a couple sites I was looking at built pc's www.cyberpowerpc.com/ www.ibuypower.com/ www.maingear.com/ Site's I was looking for parts to build my own www.newegg.com/ www.tigerdirect.com/
Building my own PC - HELP? I'd want to run games like COD4 in 1080i, I've got my own Full HD monitor so I won't be needing that. My budget is really up to £500 but if it's any cheaper then that'd be better because I don't actually have the money at the moment. Basically, I'd just like a list of every part I need if I'm completely building it from scrach, and want them to be compatible with each other because I don't want to buy anything that won't work. Reply to person below: No, I get paid at the end of the month so I'll have the money then and I want to build my own computer, just need some guidance.

Suggest me some parts for building my own gaming PC.? Ok, i decided I'm gonna try to build my first computer. I've never done this before. Id like a good gaming rig. I would like it to be a good powerful system that i can run Crysis on high and not have to worry about upgrading it for a few years. Hopefully under $1000 would be good too. If I HAVE to go over 1k a lil i guess i could live with that. But from what i've read the prices for built PC's are fairly low. Now I have a monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers. I will probably upgrade those after I get the computer, so no worries there. But as for everything else, lay it on me. Case, video card, etc. P.S. I should get Vista right? P.S.S Pray for me!!!
Where do I purchase equipment to build my own gaming PC? And how do I know how to put it all together? So EVERYONE tells me to build one but a PC seems so complex, and I know little to nothing about tech. I really want one since my current PC is so outdated and I would like to play games really smoothly on it. I can't even play Slender on it! Anyways, I just want a PC to run things like Skyrim and all of it's mods on High-Def (or close to it) or Blade and Soul (if it comes to NA.) And even to run free PC games. Also being able to browse normally through the internet and hold music and whatnot. Just an overall good PC. If possible, I would like the price to be under $1,000. I'm not sure if I would want to purchase all of the equipment online and on different sites so a thorough explanation and list of things to buy would help a lot. I was given the impression that the best hardware for a gaming PC is purchased online. And if you read (which obviously you did not) you would see that I clearly stated that I do not know much about PCs and its equipment. I don't know what to search for, what to look at. If you don't know how to properly answer a question, I suggest getting out. I wouldn't have made a rude comment if that user didn't insult me that way. I came here in a positive mood to just ask a question and hope someone could take their time and answer it without any problems. If that user would of just answered the first time suggesting TigerDirect.com, withOUT any sly comments, nothing would lead me to talk back, however that wasn't the case. Unfortunately, he/she couldn't have been helpful and friendly enough to do so. I still thank him/her for finally suggesting something when clearly he/she could have from the beginning.
I Want to build my own gaming pc.? I do not know how to do this though so i am thinking of using Cyberpowerpc.com Can someone go there and Customize one that is around the price from 500-750 that would play games like World of Warcraft, Napoleon Total War, and Starcraft 2 at an above average rate. Thanks so much.
Help with building my own Gaming PC? Hey guys, all the help I can get would be appreciated. I'm looking for several things. My goal is to build an affordable gaming PC, one that will be able to run Skyrim and AC Revelations on reasonable graphic settings. A. Where is a good list of every piece I'll need? B. Where's the best place to buy the parts for my gaming PC? Is there a good kit with all the parts? My budget is 400-500 dollars, which I know isn't optimal but I've heard it can be done. C. Is this a good set right here, and does it have everything I need? I don't know which is the video card, if it even has one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.692922&cm_sp=DIY_PC_Combos-_-692922-_-Combo D. Where is an online guide that is very helpful for a noob at building computers? Any help would be SO much appreciated. Thanks guys. Information on building my own gaming PC? I really need to get another computer, and I had my sights on building one, but was afraid of the out come. I'm afraid of failing at one small thing when building my pc and getting angry an smashing the rest that I would have built. So I guess the real question here is, is building your own computer hard? I know a lot of people who have built there own computer who have said " it's almost like a giant puzzle piece. You just got to know which place to put things." I become frustrated really easy and I don't know if I will have the patience to build a complex piece of machinery. Any information would help me with this problem. Also, how much money would it take for me to build my own computer? Thx in advance!
What system specs are good for a new desktop gaming PC? Alright, so I am considering buying/building a gaming PC - there are many great games I would like to play, such as World in Conflict, Red Alert 3 and more. What I want to know is what system specs I should get. I see many computers with 256MB of SDRAM or whatever it's called, etc, but I find it hard to see how well that performs. So for a gaming PC that will be able to run new games well, what kind of specs would I need? I was thinking of about 2.4Ghz processor, 2 or 4GB of RAM, and a video card with 512 SDRAM. Of course there are more components to a PC than this, but as far as I understand these mean the most for gaming. Any ideas? Or any specific video cards / processors that come to mind? Thanks!
Should I buy a gaming PC or build my own? Right now, I play WoW on a laptop on low-good settings. I want to be able to play other PC games like SWTOR, Skyrim, etc. all on ultra settings. I'm not sure if I should buy something like a Doghouse System gaming desktop or if I should build my own. I was told to go newegg.com to look for parts, but I don't know if I'm getting a good deal for the part or whether it's a good piece or bad. Is there a way to find out if all the pieces I'm looking at buying will run the games I want on ultra? I'm looking for one that will last me a good number of years. Must be a desktop. I'm guessing that building my own would be cheaper and easier to replace parts. But I'm not entirely sure as I've never built my own before. Any form of help would be greatly appreciated. I'm just really tired of missing out of some games because my laptop can barely it. Already having a hard time playing WoW on it lol.
Mac or build my own PC ? for work and games? Hey ! so I actually have a budget of $2000 and I would like to buy a new desktop computer, I already have a Macbook Pro 13' but I need a computer more powerful to work on Maya, After Effects, Photoshop and Final Cut Pro. How can I learn to build a gaming rig? I always hear and read about how it's better (and cheaper) to build your own gaming pc instead of buying a custom one from a manufacturer like Alienware. But since I know very little about building PC's, I wonder if there's a way to learn without having to pay for a class. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Plus I have heard over all game play is way better and graphics etc can easily be changed out. Whats the pros and cons. I have only played Cod4 on pc, i loved it once i got the hang of using the keyboard an mouse. Any info is good info. thanks in advance.

How many watts of power will I need for my gaming computer? This summer I plan on building my own gaming PC and assembling it at home because it is cheaper and I like to customize things myself. It is an 850 dollar computer but the specs are exceptional. For the motherboard and processor, I am following a YouTube tutorial. In the YouTube video it says only 500 watts of power are needed, but in the comment section somebody (who was picked for best answer) claims that you actually need at least 630. I am planning on getting a 750 watt battery anyways, but if I don't need to, I'll try and get something cheaper. How to convince my parents to let me build my own gaming PC? Wow. Alright. I need a new gaming PC, and the only ones that meet my specs sell for about 7000$ (Alienware). I discovered the joy of building my own PC soon after! I asked and with some help from the Steam Powered User Forums I found every part I need to build my own ultra gaming rig! But here's the problem. When I took it up with my mom ( she has the credit card :[ ) she didn't believe it. I've researched (painstakingly) for many hours, and every site tells me the same thing. Building a computer is not rocket science! She seems to believe I will crash and burn and waste 1200$ worth of equipment! She says unless I find a computer-building class (o.o) or some sort of support line she's not getting the goods. Help me convince her that it's easy, please?

Planning to build my own PC that's good for gaming? I'm planning to build my own PC for gaming. I'm just a little out dated when it comes to what is new in the market. Can a 14 year old build their own gaming pc? Well, i've gotten more into pc gaming more then console gaming because the games are cheaper, you can use mods, more game options, graphics are better, etc. My laptop cannot run games very well so I figured i'd try to get a job and earn the money. But I know that teens my age are VERY limited in the workforce. The pc i'd like to build was at http://www.theverge.com/2011/12/19/2639968/how-to-build-gaming-pc. It seems very good, looks able to play games at their max settings even with shadows with great fps. (Which my laptop cannot do). So what I'm basically asking is that people my age could be able to get a job to build a good gaming pc like that, because i've heard that alienware is a ripoff compared of what you could get if you just build a pc yourself.

I Am Building My Own Gaming PC? Hey everyone, my gaming has recently took me in a different direction, and I would like to build my own NEW rig. I don't plan on building this all in one day, but maybe over a course of the next mount or two.Spending roughly 100-200 $ at a time. I was wondering what was some good ideas for some PC,like the build sheets, what works well, what do you use, what are the prices ETC. If you could include where you bought or where I should buy my parts that would be helpful. I know im going to run windows 7 64 bit, hard drive at least 500gb-1tb min, and at least 6 gbs of ram. im not sure what else like graphics card and stuff to put in it, or even the case! Please let me know! Pictures would be amazing! Thank you everyone! James No, 100-200$ at a time, spending up to 800 over all, not 200$ for the hole PC xD
Questions on building my own gaming PC? So I've been building my own gaming PC for a few months now, and I'm buying the final parts tomorrow. However, I've come to the realization that I'm still clueless on a few topics. This is my first time building a PC, and I started this long task with absolutely no idea what I was doing, so don't judge. Here are some things I need clarification on: 1) Do I need a network card (or ethernet card?) to connect to the internet? Or could I just plug in the ethernet cable I've been using on my old PC? 2) I installed my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti about a week ago, and I'm confused about the DVI-I interfaces on the back. I know that that interface is used for the monitor, but why are there two? Also, what's the difference between using the DVIs on the GPU vs. the one on the motherboard? 3) Fans. I've got one connected to the motherboard, but I only had one adapter for that. So my two other case fans are connected to the PSU. How would I go about controlling each of my fans? If I can't control the ones connected to the PSU, how does the PSU determine RPM? 4) Any tips on cable management? Everybody's PCs in youtube videos look so clean... mine is a complete mess, and I'm worried that they could interfere with the large fan on the side casing. These are probably stupid questions to a lot of you, but I would appreciate the help.
Should i build a gaming PC? I have no experience in the field of building anything, yet alone a computer. The process seems daunting and challenging. I've heard building your own PC is not only cheaper but you can create a computer that suits you and only you. My main concern is i'll buy something that doesn't fit or work with the rest of my components and then i'll waste a whole lot of money. What should i do? should i step up and attempt to build one? or should i just buy a pre built gaming machine off ebay?
I want to build a gaming PC rather than buying one because it's cheaper, some questions? I already know all the components that are required, but I was wondering, Is it easy to mess up and accidentally break things? Like the $300 processor? And also, is it easy to learn how to diagnose problems once you start using the PC? i.e., defective motherboard, defective ram, etc.? Because I don't think it would be worth it if I build my own PC, then have to send it to Geek Squad to diagnose hardware problems
Building my own gaming PC, need help.? Hi, I'm currently in the process of building my own gaming PC. For the most part I've chosen all my parts, but I want to make sure it'll be a pretty solid build and will last me a while. Here's what I've chosen: CPU: Intel Core i7 870 Processor (2.93 GHz) http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4959971&sku=I69-0870 Motherboard: EVGA X58 SLI Classified Motherboard http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4633206&sku=E145-2058 Video Card: Diamond 5870PE51G ATI Radeon HD5870 Video Card http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5271080&sku=D10-5870 Hard Drive: Western Digital WD5000AAKS Caviar Blue Hard Drive (500GB) http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2795126&sku=TSD-500AAKS Case: Thermaltake VH6000BWS Armor+ Full-Tower ATX Case http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3424772&sku=T925-2285 RAM: Corsair Core i7 Dominator 6GB PC12800 DDR3 RAM http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6044637&sku=C13-6182 Power Supply: OCZ OCZ700SXS2 StealthXStream 2 700W Power Supply - 700 Watt, ATX, 80+ Certified, 120mm Fan http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6491963&sku=O261-6324 I'm also probably going to buy an aftermarket CPU cooler, any recommendations on where I can find one? Anything else you'd recommend I buy, or anything I don't need? Overall the whole things going to cost about $1,600, and I certainly wouldn't mind saving a little money. Thanks.
Im building my own gaming PC and I need help? I am not familiar with all these computer part terminology. I know some but not all. I have looked a lot of places but I have no idea what half the stuff even means. I don't know whether the part is too much or not enough. Here's the challenge, I need to build my own gaming PC for under 400$ I already have the DVD drive. I don't want it to be overkill and yet not too slow. I would prefer SLI ready motherboard and a DX10 capable graphics card, but if thats not possible never mind them. I also do not want a case that is too fancy, just an average case that'll get the job done. Another thing, it'd be preferable if these parts were from the same site so i don't have to track 10 different things. Thank you all and good luck
I want to build my first gaming PC? Hello Everyone! I would like to build my own gaming PC. This would be my first build ever I was thinking about buying a pre made gaming PC but they all cost to much money. If you could please tell me a good gaming PC to build and post specs below would really help. My price range Is In $400-1000. Also the games I want to play would be world of warcraft, diablo 3, crysis, and other steam games on high-ultra settings. Also tell me what you think of this gaming pc for $809 link Is below thanks. http://www.amazon.com/CyberpowerPC-GUA820-FX-8120-NVIDIA-GTX550Ti/dp/B007BZPRU0/ref=sr_1_39?ie=UTF8&qid=1344062522&sr=8-39&keywords=gaming+desktop
Can I build my own PC for gaming and graphic design? would it be cheaper to build one myself? I heard that if you buy an alienware computer it gets outdated in a couple of years, so I would just like to build my own and updated it on my own. okay even if it gets outdated, I guess I don't want to spend $5,000 on an Alienware gaming machine. I have other things to do with my money. :)
I have decided to try building my own gaming pc? I think i will go with this motherboard XFX nForce 680i SLI, what do you think? and what CPU would you put with it
can someone help me build a gaming desktop pc for under $1000? I know most of the parts of a computer but i dont trust myself when it comes to picking out all the parts i need to build my own gaming pc. I am on a 1000 dollar budget but want a great gaming pc that can also help speed up my architecture programs im running. I want intel i7 quad core processor(hopefully 3.0 but can go with 2.8), atleast 1 GB nvidia or AMD video memory, 8 or 12 GB RAM and a great cooling system so my system never overheats or anything. a cover that allows massive cooling these are just specs that i'd like to have but if my expectations are too high or not high enough then i trust your judgement! i dont know anything about motherboards or cooling systems or covers. please email me at eao2012@gmail.com if you have questions! thanks! hmm ok well what would it cost then for the type of computer i want? i am not limited to 1000 but dont want 1500 or up
Good pre-built gaming pc under $2000 (Serious answers and please no build your own!)? I need a gaming PC that will last me for at least this year the main games I want to get for this PC (So you have an idea of the specs I'm aiming for) are Witcher 2 (It looks amazing) and Skyrim. I've been looking at the HP Pavillion elite http://www.techbuy.com.au/p/165752/index… and that looks pretty good. But are there any better ones I could get?
Help with building my own gaming PC? I've never built a desktop before, but I've always been curious about it and I think I'm ready. My budget is $800-1500 Some people suggested these builds to me: http://www.gaming-computer-guide.com/gaming-computer-build.html http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=29vora&s=4 I'm thinking of getting a motherboard, processor, and PSU that will allow me to upgrade in the future as my finances permit. I want to buy one video card for now (thinking ATI 5770?) and getting a second one in the future (5770x2 seems to be the same price as a 5870 and better performance?). So, I need a motherboard that allows me to have 2 video cards, and a PSU that can give enough power for them. I am thinking of getting 4-8gb of ram right now, and then getting more in the future. I don't think I'll get a soundcard now, but maybe later... is there an issue with getting a soundcard 6 months-1 year later? Do all motherboards have built-in sound? I'm really not aware of these things (sorry). I don't know what kind of case to get, but something big to accommodate a big PSU, motherboard, 2 video cards etc. I don't know much about fans... do these come with cases these days, do I buy them for my processor, video cards..? I know I need to buy thermal paste, but that's sort of the extent of it. My goal for this PC is to be able to play WoW, Crysis at OK settings.. and eventually upgrade it to be able to play Crysis @max settings. I also was wondering what are the top-of-the-line brands for video cards (someone said Sapphire?), harddrives, cooling, cases, etc... I was also looking at putting my OS (my friend gave me Win7 Ultimate, so that's what I'll be using) on a SSD... expensive I hear, any thoughts? Thank you all so much--I really appreciate any answers, even if you can only answer part of my question, please do so! Thanks!
I would like to build my first gaming pc? This would be my first time building my own gaming pc. The only problem I have Is getting all the right things that are compatible with each other and finding a case that will fit It all. I do like AMD. If anyone could please post the things that are compatible with each other and a case so I can go ahead and order and build would be a HUGE help. Thanks! (Or It can be the same stuff you have for you're pc) I am willing to pay $400-650. I would like my graphics card to be a NVIDIA or a AMD radeon I am willing to spend $800. And the game I would like to play on max setting would be WoW, Diablo 3, and some other steam games.
Rate my computer build. First time. 666 Euros. Budget gaming pc? Hi there, It's the first time I try to build my own gaming PC. Did some research here and there, read a bit and came up with such a build. I might have forgotten some stuff such as cooler or mismatched some components. I especially am not sure if the motherboard suits well with the rest. Please help me out. I'm willing to have a PC that would last for 4-5 years and I still have some more money to spare but I'd rather not go over 900 Euros including monitor which you will find at the end of the post (max. 1000 Euros if it's really really worth it). I'll ONLY use it to play games as SC2, D3, Skyrim and such stuff. (I never play FPS.) CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-2500K GPU: XFX HD6870 Dual Fan (AMD Radeon HD 6870 1024 MB 256 Bit) Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z77-DS3H HDD: Samsung HD103SJ 1 TB Memory: G.Skill DIMM 8 GB DDR3-1333 Kit Power: Sharkoon WPM600 (600W) DVD: Samsung SH-222BB/BEBE Tower: Zalman Z11 Plus (Midi tower) --- 666 Euros --- Monitor: Asus ML239H 58,4 cm (23") LED Monitor (IPS, Full-HD, HDMI, 5ms) = 147 Euros Please rate and offer me better if possible. Thank You !!! Erdem
Can anyone help me on my goal to build my first gaming PC? Hello, my Yahoo! comrades. I am sure that some of you know that Battlefield 3 is out and the visuals looks outstanding. It is very realistic compared to the Call of Duty franchise. However, the "recommended" requirements that so many PC gamers achieve for are very high. I bought Battlefield 3 for the Xbox 360 but I want to play it on the PC to play it on its full potential. However, my desktop PC does not even meet the MINIMUM requirements for it. The graphic card, along with the other components, are outdated by several years. Thus, I have decided that I would build my own gaming PC that would endure for 3-5 years until further upgrade. The problem with that is that I do not know where to start and I barely know about computers other than than basic facts and processes. I have also decided to set a budget of $1500 to spend on the parts on my gaming PC. That being said, is there anyone how knows the in and out of a gaming PC that can tell me what I need other than more RAM, a motherboard and a good graphic card (Nvidia GeForce GTX 580)? Also, what components would you recommend? Please and Thank you, Yahoo! comrades. Also, I have noticed that Nvidia introduced "3D gaming" not too long ago. Is it worth getting the "3D Vision" unit? Is it really 3D like how it was before in amusements parks or like in the movies were it is barely anything that changed?

Gaming PC Build/Help? I have been doing research on PC gaming and would like to build my own gaming rig. Cheap Gaming PC Build? (Tight Budget)? I've been recently looking into buying a gaming computer. After searching for a couple of days, I could'nt find a powerful enough computer that could play the games I wanted and fit my budget. So I've fallen back on building my own pc. I have no experience with building pc's, but im sure its nothing youtube couldnt help. so my big question here is what parts should I get for the pc? I know i need a case, an operating system, motherboard, RAM, Power supply, and probably most importantly a good graphics card. However, I am on a pretty tight budget, so if all of this could be done for $400 or less, that would be great, although im not expecting it. If you guys have suggestions on what i should buy, please post the specs of the computer in the comments below, and if possible, where to buy them. Thank you! I dont need a monitor, so we can leave that out of the equation.
Planning to build a gaming PC around $600 or less? Hey everyone, I have decided to build my own gaming rig, I have THOUGHT about it for quite a long time.. while in the meantime I ended up buying a Ps3 + a Gaming headset. But I've made my mind about building a PC for gaming generally. I, myself is an avid gamer. For one I'm still in school.. so I know when to schedule myself to studying or gaming. I'm planning on building myself a gaming PC. I have experiences with parts, like I know how it goes and how it would pair up. But I need help in picking parts. Basically I'm looking for a semi-budget spec setup. $600 would be my limit, I know spending only 600 wouldn't get me EXCELLENT gaming experience, but I'm looking for someone who can get the best SPEC setup with 600, something that will get me the MAX/High performance I will be looking forward to. Please list your suggestions below, be free with your choices, just make it within 600$, AMD or Intel. This is excluding the monitor, keyboard and mice. I was looking for a high performance graphic card/motherboard while trying to find parts cheaper? Generally.. spending literally half of 600 on graphics/motherboard.. but again, feel free to list your suggestions as long as its under 600. List the parts (with LINK, preferably NEWEGG) price, and total. PLEASE help, THANK YOU! If you can get anything around 400~500 it would be GREAT too! ANYTHING LOWER THAN 600! :) I got my father to help pay for the graphics card. hehe! so I'm basically paying for everything else^^
what is the best motherboard for a gaming pc ? i want to build my own gaming pc so any info you can give me will help
$1000 Gaming pc build (First attempt at building a pc)? Hello, I have about $1000 bucks to purchase components, and tools to put together a gaming computer. The 1,000 dollars does NOT include the monitor, speakers, or the keyboard and mouse (Those I will be purchasing through Dell with a preffered account). This is what I have so far, priced $1,020 on Newegg.com: -Raidmax smilodon Extreme Black ATX Case -Seagate Barracuda 250 GB HD -EVGA Geforce 8800 GT Graphics Card -Thermaltake 500 Watt PSU -G.Skill 2GB Ram kit -EVGA Nvidia nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel motherboard -Intel Core 2 Quad 6600 Kentsfield 2.4ghtz -Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro 92 mm CPU cooler Aside from the monitor and speakers, am I missing anything here? Also, if you have a better build in this price range, please share your experiences! This will be my first attempt at building my own pc, and Im a bit nervous. I still am in search for a good guide to follow!
PC Gaming Build Configuration? I am going to build my own PC and I am an above casual gamer but not hardcore. I do not wish to run Vista yet, but I plan to in the future. Also, the computer has to be able to do basic procedures such as browsing the web and Microsoft Office. Please list a complete configuration of the best components to use for maximum performance. Also, the total cost (not including monitor) must be under $1,100. Thank you for the responses. Thank you for the first answer. However, I am changing it a bit and everything together(including case) must be $900 or under. And also, I would rather have a better processor than motherboard. Please include everything with the config you provide, fans, cooler, thermal compund, etc. I am not a computer expert as well so please provide me with any knowledge you hold.
Rate my custom build gaming pc? Hi! I've decided to build my own gaming rig, but i'm a newbie. So tell me what do you think of this configuration: Case - thermaltake element V or HAF 932 CPU - i5 2500k GPU - GTX 580 frozr 2 (probably +1 via SLI), or asus radeon 6970 with 2 fans (also +1) MoBo - asus p8p67pro RAM - hyperX 2x4gb PSU - corsair 1000w CPU cooler - Noctua NH d14 Hdd - seagate barracuda 7200 1Tb
What do I need for a new gaming pc? Hi everyone! I'm starting to build my own gaming pc by Christmas, and I want to make a really good one. I was hoping if anyone can help me, give me some tips, and name some good, but cheap parts. Thank you.
Ideas on building a gaming pc? I'm thinking about getting parts to build my own pc for gaming, nothing too expensive though. I want to atleast play shogun 2 total war on high or ultra settings with a smooth feeling to it. So if you have any ideas on what parts or whatever that I should get, that would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. $500-$1000 would be my range.
Help Me Get A Gaming PC! :)? Hey All, I've decided to start PC Gaming. However.. I'm not sooo good at building my rig or whatever it is.. I need help, So I'd Appreciate anyone that helps me build my Gaming PC (Desktop Computer). I really suck at building a gaming PC or when it comes to stuff like that so I need some help :/ Okay. So Here are the things that could help you. Price Range Anywhere from $1500 To $2000. Alienware (Or any other you recommend) Will be able to play Batman Arkham City And Battlefield 3 (Any high demanding games) on with the highest settings possible. Screen size.. I'm not too sure.. I currently have an 18 inch laptop at the moment.. So anything fairly bigger (A fair size to enjoy gaming on) will do. :) That's all I can think of at the moment, I'll edit it when I come up with something or if I get asked a question. I'll check really frequently to see if someone needs help with something to build/get it. Soo once you got it all Please send me the link (Or for some reason if that doesn't work.. Just list down the stuff I need to make the gaming PC and I'll go to the site, put em all together and have my Gaming PC Ready! It could also be a PRE-Built PC too! It's okay.. If the pre-built PC (Whichever you recommend/prefer for me) will be great for gaming then that works too.. I don't WANT to build my own gaming PC unless I have too or I MUST.. If there is no pre-built PC out there that can do the job. So yeah, It could be a Pre-Built PC. Oh and one more thing, I'm in Toronto, Canada if it helps... Don't really think it will but just saying.
How to build a Powerful Gaming PC? (what to look for?)? I am fed up with spending loads of money on laptops and computers which have apparently high rating for performance in games and they let me down with poor fps, lagging and overheating problems.. SO i want to build my own powerful gaming PC which will handle ANY PC game out to this date. i look at all components such as CPU, motherboards etc and there is a lot of new numbers and letters which don't mean much to me. i am just used to the standard CPU speeds, graphic card mb and usual info you can see by looking up system info. What specs do i look for in each component? can i just buy any random peices i like and put them together or do i need to find details on each for compatibility? (i have looked up new decent processors and figure Intel i7 processor is best and know this requires an x58 motherboard so thats what i'm after) do i just pick the fastest rpm speeds and biggest cache memory there is to get the best? what is cache memory for? please feed me your intellectual knowledge about ALL computer parts! what beats what! & what to do and what not to do when it comes to building a powerful PC.

If you could build a gaming pc for £1000? I have £1000 to spend on a pc mainly for gaming. There is a website called pcspecialist.co.uk where you can choose your own components and build a pc. What spec pc would you go for, with £1000
How difficult is it to build your own gaming computer? Hey guys, I want to build my own gaming computer, which will run the latest games on ultra settings with no lag. I have an 'okay' knowledge of computers but I'm no expert with them. My budget is $1500 to $2000. The reason I'm thinking about this is because I do want to learn more than what I know now, but I suppose it's also a challenge (for me anyway). I do plan to take gaming somewhat seriously after I finish highschool (not as a career!) so a new machine would be great. Anyway, has anyone here built their own pc from scratch before? If yes, how long did it take you to assemble the parts and get it going? The thing I'm worried about is the compatibility of each component. Thanks :D

Does anyone know the name of the PC game where you build your own empire? Does anyone know the name of the PC game where you build your own empire? I saw the game in in a Scholastic Warehouse so it's probably from their company. In the game you can build and manage you rown empire and take down other empires. There was different eras(Roman, etc.) I think. Thanks in advance for your help. =)

What is a good pc game where you build your own base and create armies and manage your settlement? either in midieval times, ww1/2, or anytime except futuristic create your own base, manage it upgrade armies and such thanks!
Where can I build my own desktop PC? I know there are several websites where companies such as Dell and Asus will allow consumers to pick and choose what kind of processor they want, etc. Do any of these companies allow you to do this with desktop PCs?
