Should I build a gaming computer? or Buy one pre Built? I always hear that building a gaming computer is cheaper and better, however I dont know a thing about how to build one and how to get all the parts to be compatible and I dont even know where I would began to start searching to find all the parts for the best price to me it just seems like building one would be easier. I'll just give you a little background on what I plan to play, I want to have a computer that can run BF3 on High settings and get around 60+ FPS, also be able to play minecraft on Far with 60+ FPS, Can someone assist me in what I should do, I have $1000 to spend towards this computer, If you are able to help me it would be greatly appreciated if you could tell me some of the main components to have on the computer so I at least know where to start. I have set aside $300 dollars for a monitor and already have a keyboard and mouse so I will not need to use the $1000 towards that. If Making a computer within my wanted specifications isn't possible please let me know.
What Components to build a custom gaming pc? Im looking to build a custom gaming pc at a reasonable price however i am an amateur and im not sure what is compatible with what can someone assist with a list of top class compoments to build a great pc - many thanks
Building a Custom Gaming PC? Hi, i'm making the switch from console gaming to PC, i'm building my own PC to try to save some money and get the experience of building my own PC. I would like some advice as to witch hardware such as CPU's GPU's i should buy. Any input and help is appreciated. First off like i said its going to be a gaming computer i want to be able to play any new pc game on the highest setting possible without problem. Id personally would like dual graphics cards but if i could get it done with one that would be good too. Also i want to be able to go beyond 1080p. i've heard of 4k HD, but is there higher?? if so i would like the ability of my computer to support it. Ive read that some games depend more on CPU than GPU? Which brings me to the question of which CPU? Ive heard Intel is a little better but AMD is cheaper? Now to the computer case/chasis? i would like something that looks cool w/ alot of room and nice ventilation and cooling but at a low cost. And what about sound cards? i havent done much research on these but some custom PC's that i've seen other people build, a sound card wasn't bought or on the list? Motherboards? RAM? HDD? Optical Drive? Also, cooling? what options do i have should i go with water cooling or Heatsinks? Whats best cost/performance?. This is basically all i have at the moment, there are still a number of things i know i have to keep in mind... Help?
Building a Custom gaming PC? Im looking into getting some sort of gaming PC and I need some advice. I really like the alien wares, but it seems everyone finds them to be rubbish and overpriced. Is this true or is it just something a kind of elitist says? I also hear a lot of talk about building a custom PC, but is this a truly viable option? And is it really all that cheaper compared to simply buying a prebuilt alien ware? You see, I have never put together a computer before, so obviously I wouldn't know what I was doing when I tried to build one. How hard is it and how long did it take for you to build your first PC? Is there anywhere that I could possibly find a guide? So, what do you think? Try and build my own or buy an alien ware?
MSI GT60 2OC-022US or Build a Custom Gaming PC? Hey everyone. So I´ve decided to opt out of gettin the next generation of consoles and instead invest in a gaming pc. I have about a 1500 dollar budget but I could go over by about 200 if it is worth it. I´ve recently been looking at the MSI GT60 2OC-022US gaming laptop which has some pretty decent specs: 4th gen i7-4700mq intel processor 8gig ddr3 sdram nvidia geforce gtx770m gpu steelseries keyboard price tag of around $1350 I haven´t built a pc before but I think I would be up to the challenge if it would save me money and build an equivalent or better system I really just want to have a future proof machine for at least 3 years Any input on my options and possible build specs would be really awesome, and you wouldn´t have to include monitor, keyboard, etc Thanks and hope everyone is having a good summer.
Is it worth building a custom gaming PC? I have been looking into get a PC, for things like gaming, school and entertainment, and I am trying to do so in as little money as possible. Without the expense of performance, can I build a good gaming PC (able to run Skyrim and Battlefield 3) for under $1000.
Custom Built PC Questions? So I was thinking about buying a custom built computer off ebay (Like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/AMD-630-X4-QUAD-CORE-9800GT-CUSTOM-GAMING-COMPUTER-/350400973598?pt=Desktop_PCs&hash=item5195868b1e#ht_8014wt_1139 ). But I don't know if I should, I've heard bad things about them? Like they don't last long, things go wrong with them? Can anyone who has had experience with custom pc's let me know what they think about them? -- 2nd question: Would this computer (the one above) be good for gaming? I probably won't be playing any high demanding games. Only games like the sims 3/sims 2. It says on the sims 3 website that if you are running windows XP (which I plan on installing once I get the computer) that you need a 2.0 GHz P4 processor or one equivalent to that. Please forgive my ignorance, but is the processor on the computer listed above (AMD Athlon 2.8 GHz) equivalent to the P4 2.0 GHz? I'm pretty sure it is, I'm just checking. Also will the nVidia GeForce 9800GT 512MB let me play the sims 3 at max settings, without lag? -- Thanks very much for reading my question :)

If not go check them out on there website, there amazing but I"m not going to pay $2000 for some aluminum tubing. I'm pretty good at building things but I trying to figure out different ways to do this. What different type of materials do you think would work easiest ? If you know any web sites that may be helpful? Web sites that I could purchase parts for this desk ? Ideas on the design ? Check out http://www.thev1chair.com/visionmain/bluefront2a.jpg to get an idea what I want to build. Building a Custom High Performance Gaming PC, HELP? What components should I use for a high performance/game playing & making/video edit/CAD/design computer? {It's a long-ish read, sorry} 1. I would like to start with one of these processors: →Intel i7-4770K* →Intel i7-3770K →Intel i5-3570K* I would like to use water cooling, but I've seen so many types (like battle juice & regular water cooling or other mediums) BUT if I had to use fans I would want to have more so the equipment doesn't overheat like I'm sure it would... (Water-Cooling on the CPU OR max fans on the case) 2. GPU/Graphics Card: [Not the expensive nVidia GeForce GTX Titan although it'd be nice] →nVidia GeForce GTX 780 →nVidia GeForce GTX 770 →nVidia GeForce GTX 690 or (1X/2X) 660TI (I like to play games on highest settings like Skyrim, BF3, & Crysis3, with other programs openlike music & internet on a 2nd &/or 3rd screen; I also use programs like AutoCAD & other AutoDesk programs) 3. RAM: 16GB would be nice 4. SSD/HDD: I would like to have a boot SSD like I've been seeing around the internet (BUT I don't understand how to do it or what size is needed) →1TB+ HDD Also, to add to it & maybe a 3rd to back up both the HDD & SSD onto (An internal mechanial one) 5. The Case will be a full or super/ultra like one of the following: →CM HAF 912 →CM Storm Stryker →Corsair Graphite - Arctic White →Corsair Obsidian Series 900D Super Tower →Corsair Carbide Series 330R →NZXT Phantom 630 - Gunmetal Grey →NZXT Phantom 820 - Gunmetal Grey (I need 2-3X USB ports, spaceous for the GPU, a full mobo, 2 disc drives Blu-ray Burner + a simple SD card reader, fan space the 2-3 regular is minimal, but additional ones would be better, ) (I don't really need lights, nothing fancy like that) (I would like USB 3.0, tool-less, legs to elevate the case *if* it were to be on the floor {have carpet :( }, see-through side {so everyone can be in awe ;) }) 6. KEYBOARD: If you would like to know, I'd like one of the following but can't decide (would like to have the red cherryX keys for fast response or the blue ones is fine also; I'm not too picky) →CM Storm Trigger {SGK-6000-GKCR1} →CM Storm QuickFire XT {SGK-4030-GKCR1} →Corsair Vengeance K60 FPS Mech. →Corsair Vengeance K70 Fully Mech. Gaming Keyboard - Natural Silver N.A. Layout 7. MOUSE: 5-7 buttons are fine, any more & it would be useless to me →Razer Abyssus (or mirror) →Razer DeathAdder 8. The mobo: needs to withstand heat & if possible a power outage (← a frequent thing sadly) I would need capabilities for things like USB 3.0, 2+ hard drives, 2+ optical drives, extra fans, *maybe watercooling space*, fast ethernet port(s) (I'm a gamer...), multi-display unless the GPU handles that. I would like capabilities like dual graphics cards, 4 RAM slots, bluetooth (probably 4.1*newest), WiFi a/b/g/n (ac *newest/prototype-ish sometimes WiFi gets better speeds...) 9. The display(s): I want 2 that can turn to be vertical & the main to be gaming/media center-ish; around the 20" mark for the sides & not to exceed 30" for the main I don't like any screen that I would have to be directly in front of to have a good picture like I know TVs do. 10. The Power Supply (PSU): I have little clue, but I was going with 750W to 1000W? atleast Bronze rated? 11. WINDOWS 7!! (Ultimate?) Steam Spotify Anti-virus/malware/whatever security *suggestions from gamers?? {I really do hate McAfee 'Freeze'ums' and Norton 'Look-the-other-way...'} Games: TES IV Skyrim, BF3, ... IDK... AutoCAD MAYA *maybe *some cloud [storing] software Camera - Picture software & editing Broadcasting software - video+audio *for things like TwitchTv :) notes: Audio doesn't matter to me as I have hard time hearing things, but if the motherboard has a better quality audio component I'm not afraid to buy it :) Although I use stereo headphones Turtle Beach EarForce P11 mostly with a PS3 though. The price; I would would prefer to stay under 2-3 Grand, but I understand performance = big $. Please understand I'm coming from a Sony VAIO Laptop PC Intel Core i3-380M 2.53GHz, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, 3 USB, USB/eSATA, HDMI port (not used yet), VGA Disp. *I think, 'bipolar' WiFi driver/software, many security programs (1 at a time of course), && HOURS of research for parts for a completely new custom-hand-built desktop PC If you read all of this Thank you a lot! I know Yahoo! Answers isn't really the place for this, but I didn't know where else to go... If you have a suggested site please say so!! EDIT: I probably missed something in there... Sorry I don't do video chatting... Sorry I don't do video chatting...
I need advice on building a custom gaming PC? I am currently researching, as I am considering buying a custom-built gaming PC. Now, I want to know the following first: (1) Best website to buy from (Easy to follow, decent prices, multiple parts to choose from, etc) (2) What kind of parts I'll need specifically (3) What to do / what not to do (4) How much should I be paying You get the picture :p So I need the PC for: (1) Gaming (2) Photo / Video editing (3) Internet usage , etc I want it to be able to run all those smoothly and efficiently, without slowness and stuff. And if possible, in terms of gaming, able to handle max quality settings smoothly without lag or frame-rate issues. Thanks :) I'm asking because I like to have somebody else's opinion as well as my own. (NOTE, If you want, if you can specifically point me to a website, tell me which pc to choose and what parts to add to build this pc that would be helpful too.)
Custom Gaming PC Build? So this is the setup I'm going to start with. I plan on upgrading it in the future, so don't ask why I don't include an SSD or anything else. This will be a work in progress. I intend to play Skyrim, Far Cry 3, Fallout 3, a few older games, and maybe a couple new (like AC4). I would like to play at 1080, but wouldn't have a problem playing at 720 if it allows me to set the graphics to max. It's not a gaming powerhouse, but I'm not looking for that yet, that'll come later. Any thoughts?

27" iMac i7 core vs. Custom built gaming PC? I want to buy a gaming computer as well as trying something new, which is why I wanted to purchase the new 27" iMac with the i7 quad-core processor, but I've read online that I could build a gaming computer myself for little more than half or half the price of buying that iMac. I would like to know what would be better for my money and if you rule in favor for the custom built gaming PC to list ALL of the parts I need for it if I'm going to choose that option, because I don't know how to build my own computer.
Need help building gaming PC :)? Hey, I am trying to build a gaming PC I expect to pay around 1,000 bucks (i'll pay more if I have to) Please, tell me if all these parts will be compatible with eachother, etc. if the power supply will be too much or not enough, I want to game with it so it has to be pretty powerful, I also am doing graphic design so I really want the 32 GB or RAM to drastically reduce render times.. Please let me know what you think, I don't really want to make changes, unless you guys feel its absolutely necessary. Please just let me know what you think of it, and how it would preform on high end games like Far Cry, GTA or Skyrim . Is it expensive getting a custom build gaming pc? My pc sucks and i would like to get a new pc but there all to expensive might tell someone to build me a custom pc to play the following games: League Of Legends Modren Warfare Minecraft Arma 2 By the way i cant play most games that are on this list
Building a custom Gaming PC, trying to decide graphics card? Hi, I am planning on making a gaming PC soon. I will be using this for pretty graphics-intensive games such as Crysis and Oblivion (heavily modded to look nicer). I hope to keep Crysis at an average of about 30 FPS, on very high (on my 1280x1024 monitor), but I have yet to decide what GPU (or GPU's) to use in the system. The specs I have decided on are as follows: RAM- 4GB Corsair (PC6400) Processor- Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4Ghz (Q6600) MoBo- SLi-enabled P5N-D Nvidia Nforce, EPU technology Power Supply- SLi-enabled 650W by Casegears Cooling- Thermaltake MaxOrb fan, Overclocking-proof (obviously I am ommiting all of the other unimportant stuff) and now, I just need to decide on the GPU. I was thinking of two SLi'd GeForce 8800GT 512Mb cards, but I have heard that Crysis (among other games) has some problems with SLi, and actually gets a lower framerate. If this is the case, I would rather a single card for a similar price (such as the GTX 260), could anyone give me some suggestions? Note: I am hoping for a card that is a very similar price to the two 8800GT cards, so the GTX 280 is out of the question, being over $200 more. ehh, from what I have seen, the 9xxx series is hardly better than the 8xxx series, with just slight changes that really make little difference. The reception for the 9800GTX was pretty bad, since it is almost identical to the 8800GT for so much more. thanks, I like this build too :D (plus the price isn't too outrageous- just under $1500 CND including shipping) and to the other person, this is all going to be made by IBuyPower, so there's no point buying all of the seperate parts all over the place. Thanks very much about the tip with the SLi'd 8800GT cards, but I'm not going to best answer you yet, because you have brought up a new question :P About the Q6600 vs E8400/8600, I really do not update my computer often, and therefore I think that a quadcore is the way to go for longevity of this computer. Games are going to start using 4 cores without a doubt, so I may as well have them now. I can overclock the 6600 a little bit (keeping in mind this won't be watercooled), so it might reach 3Ghz or so. Yes, the dual core is better right now, but I think that the quad core is going to get its comeuppance on it within at least a year. This way, I won't have to upgrade my core when the next gen comes out. If you have any other arguments as to why I should go E8400 instead still, please tell me, I want the best I can get for a moderate price. holy crap! I was looking at Futureshop.ca, and I found a computer that is almost identical to the one I am designing, but much lower fees since it is built in Canada! Q9300 (from what I have seen, very OC'able, can go to 3.0Ghz without needing additional cooling) 2x 8800GT SLi'd (lol, must be a popular config) 4Gb RAM excellent, I think this ends the argument! Anyways, I will give best answer to the person who helped me the most, but thank you all very much for the feedback!
Are these good parts for building my custom gaming pc? Hi, I'm going to try and build a custom gaming pc. Custom building a PC?..? How can you custom build your own PC? Can you have somebody do it for you at a computer store if you bring them the parts? Im wanting to make one for gaming, possible 2 or 4g ram and a good video card (no more than $120 pref.) What exact parts are needed? And about how much will it cost me total?
How much does it cost to make a custom built gaming PC? Like pick the parts and have them build it. Just the PC part not the monitor. Also I'd like suggestions on the graphics card, hardrive, etc. Suggestions for what parts are the best/decent.

custom built gaming pc? how do I start ?
How to build a custom gaming PC? I'm nearly 15 now, and soon I'll get some money about 650-700 euro. I want to build a good gaming PC, or a good laptop that can play games, but I honestly don't have a clue. I do know lots about PC's, all the components, I used to be a Top Contributor in PC on this but building it just isn't my thing, any help would be great! Thanks! :)
Building a Gaming PC? Hi guys, I'm considering building a gaming PC for myself because I feel that they're quite cheaper than buying a pre-bought/custom job PC and because a PC would be way better than the laptop I currently have. I'm asking on here for people to give me suggestions for gaming parts such as graphics cards, processors, everything I'd need etc but can they be affordable suggestions as I don't have a large budget (I'm a student) and in the UK (so in pounds please). The sort of power output that I'm looking for from this PC is the ability to play games as high-end as Starcraft 2 multiplayer at the moment but with room for higher end games. Thanks very much :) Ok I understand my budget isn't very clear, to be honest because I have to pay rent, buy food etcetera my absolute maximum budget for a PC is around £500 per pay-day. However, I get cash (in the form of student loans) every 3 to 4 months so if I bought the parts for the PC over a year then I could have a budget of £1,500. Also I'm thinking solely of hardware at the moment, and things that don't affect performance such as the PC tower/case I'm happy to buy second-hand/beg family members for/scrounge. :)

How to install windows on a custom build pc? I recently purchased a custom build gaming pc for my boyfriend, when I purchased it I knew it'd have no operating system so a friend of mine burned a copy of windows 7 to a disk. When switching the pc on and trying to use the disk it doesn't work. A black and white screen appears saying... "Windows boot manager Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem: 1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer 2. Choose your language settings, and then click next. 3. Click repair your computer. If you do not have this disc contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance. Status : 0xc0000034 Info : An unexpected error has occurred" So what do we do? We're really dumb when it comes to computers. Thanks for any help!

What parts should I put in a new custom PC build? I am planning on building a custom PC intended for gaming and basic needs pretty soon. This will be my first time building a computer, so I'm pretty noobish to everything. I am not looking for something amazing because I have a low budget of around $350. This machine will kind of be my test of PC gaming for me as I have been a console gamer until now. I am pretty much looking for it to play Minecraft very well, Runescape, Battlefield 3 (medium settings on 720p), and most importantly, Elder Scrolls Online when it is released. Here my my specs at the moment, tell me what you guys think. PSU: Cooler Master Elite Power - 460W Power Supply Case: Thermaltake V3 Black AMD Edition Gaming Chassis Mid Tower Steel Computer Case Motherboard: MSI AMD A55 MicroATX DDR3 1600 370 Motherboard CPU: AMD A10-5800K APU 3.8Ghz Processor GPU: Integrated (hoping to upgrade to AMD Radeon 6670 to use dual graphics alongside AMD A10) RAM: Corsair Vengeance Blue 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600 MHz Hard Drive: Hitachi 320gb 7200rpm hard drive (this will not cost me any money as I am taking it off of my old computer to save some cash.) Fans: 2 Cooler Master 120mm red LED fans and another back exhaust fan that comes with the case Operating System: Windows 7 32-bit I also have a few more question. 1. I know that this case comes with one 120mm back exhaust fan, but I have no clue on where to put the two others I am buying and whether to make them exhaust or intake fans. What should I do? 2. I plan on running a dual monitor set up. I have two pretty decent monitors laying around and needed to know if my build supports it because I have no idea. If it does, how would he be done? 3. Question on Windows 7. I already have a 32-bit version of Windows 7 on the hard drive that I have putting into my build. What is the difference between a 32 or 64-bit OS. Will having a 64-bit OS boost my performance all that much? 4. Last question. I was wondering if anyone knew anything more about Elder Scrolls Online. I can honestly say that I am so pumped and cannot wait. When is is supposed to be released? And, I know the game isn't out yet, but do you think that my build could run it decently well? Thank You all soooo much for whoever answers this question! It really means a lot. -Future PC Gamer

Basic hardware and software requirements for a gaming PC? Well, I am doing my first ever custom built gaming PC. Need to know the basic requirements for building one, and I am not much of a computer nerd, so it would be nice if you could keep the computer talk to a minimum, if you get my drift. There is no real budget, as long as each individual item stays under 200$. I already have a few computer cases as options, so no need to worry about that, unless thee is a real need to worry. In a nutshell, just some basic requirements for a great gaming PC, like hard drive, etc.

First custom gaming PC build, please help!? Please help! Hello I am new to building PC's, but I've heard that it is really easy to assemble. My only trouble is that I do not know if the parts I have chosen are compatible with each other or will perform well together. I wish to make a gaming computer that is very fast and can handle almost anything but is very affordable (within the $1000-$1200 range). Could anyone please correct my build and/or make me a build that fits these perquisites? My build: -computer case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129021&cm_re=Antec_Nine_Hundred_Two_Black_Steel_ATX-_-11-129-021-_-Product -power supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371021&cm_re=650_watt_continuous_supply-_-17-371-021-_-Product -CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115067&cm_re=intel_i5_quad_core-_-19-115-067-_-Product -CPU fan: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835106150&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-CPU%20Cooling-_-Thermaltake-_-35106150&AID=10440897&PID=4222941&SID= -motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157217 -hard drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136073&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-Hard%20Drives-_-Western%20Digital-_-22136073&AID=10440897&PID=4222941&SID= -CD/DvD-ROM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106289&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-CD/DVD%20Burners%20(RW%20Drives)-_-Lite-On-_-27106289&AID=10440897&PID=4222941&SID= -video card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130550&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-Video%20Cards-_-EVGA-_-14130550&AID=10440897&PID=4222941&SID= -Memory modules: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227424&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-Memory%20(Desktop%20Memory)-_-OCZ%20Technology-_-20227424&AID=10440897&PID=4222941&SID= this build is roughly $1100 lol please help! :( if anything, I could always go with a premade computor i loosely based these builds off this website's builds: http://elitepcbuilding.com/modules.php?name=How-to-Build-A-Computer&file=Parts-Selection Mines like a hybrid of the moderate/elite gaming to anyone who answers this question; Thank you i want to give you all full points but sadly i can only choose one person :( but I really want to know: does this build work? Would it run games such as assassin's creed well or would it even run at all? thank you again :D So glad that yahoo answers has a community as supportive as this
Price of all items needed to build a custom-built Gaming PC? I'm planning to build a new Gaming PC where I'm able to run Team Fortress 2 with High settings, full resolution [1680x1050 (I may buy a second monitor which is the same)] with dx9 frames. My budget is also about $1000 and below. I've watched a couple videos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-uHmL7Y2UU) and I've clearly understood and checked myself for all components within my computer. Also, is a PC possible like this: http://imgur.com/a/TR36c#0
Rate my custom build gaming pc? Hi! I've decided to build my own gaming rig, but i'm a newbie. So tell me what do you think of this configuration: Case - thermaltake element V or HAF 932 CPU - i5 2500k GPU - GTX 580 frozr 2 (probably +1 via SLI), or asus radeon 6970 with 2 fans (also +1) MoBo - asus p8p67pro RAM - hyperX 2x4gb PSU - corsair 1000w CPU cooler - Noctua NH d14 Hdd - seagate barracuda 7200 1Tb
Is this a good custom build gaming pc? I'm planning on building my own pc, or really just upgrading major parts of it. I already have a PSU, hard drive, and mini-itx sized casing.. I wanted to know if the parts below would work good for gaming and use with After Effects. If not, feel free to suggest better parts for the similar total price. CPU: Intel i3-2120 OR Intel i5-2500K Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H61N-USB3 Mini-ITX 1155 Socket Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GT 430
What motherboards to get for custom build gaming PC? I need to build a PC for myself. I already bought the processor which is the sandy bridge i5 2500k. Now I am stuck at choosing the motherboard and GPU, I know I need a socket 1155 motherboard and because I want to overclock the i5 processor, I want the P67 for my motherboard. I am thinking about spending about 300 on both motherboard and GPU, this is about 150 for each. Anyone can give me some ideas, I am looking at both ASUS P8P67 family motherboard and MSI P67A-GD55. For graphics I am looking at all GTX 260, GTX 275, GTX 280, GTX 460 768 MB, GTX 460 SE, GTX 550 Ti. It's just really hard to choose the motherboard and GPU. Also I was noticing that there are low cost but high watts power supply, should I get them and if not please provide some recommendations for the power supply, I know that's a lot of questions to ask, I will definitely give a 5 star to the best answer. Thank you
I am new with computers, I need some advice on this custom build gaming PC? I am planning to build my very own computer to play video games. I am looking to play games such as Fallout: New Vegas, Skyrim, MW3, Battlefield 3, Crysis, etc. Usually I buy a computer that is already built, but I recently learned that it is cheaper to build one yourself. So, after a few computer engineering classes, I more or less acquired an idea as to how to build a computer when you have all of the parts at hand. I may need a bit of help from Youtube tutorials, but it's not a big problem. I have a flexible $650-750 budget. Anyways, here are the components that I plan to buy: AMD phenom ii X6 1090t Processor Intel DH67BLB Socket LGA 1155 Motherboard 500GB of Hard Drive memory Corsair Vengeance 2*4GB of RAM 700 Watt power supply First, I need someone to tell me whether this is a good system base for playing games or not. Are there any cheaper components that run better than the ones I bought? Is the power supply I bought enough for these components? Thank you. Now, I am aware that those five components are the most important part of a pc, and I find this an easy concept to grasp. I have been told, however, that you also need small components, such as USB ports, Ethernet ports, PCI ports, optical drive ports, etc. and I have no idea what this is. Could someone either explain something to me,or tell me what extra little ports/components I need to buy other than the five obvious ones? The main question I ask these questions is because I looked at ASUS's "recommended power supply" page, and I came across some utterly confusing language and names for some "ports" that I had to choose...I was very lost. BTW, I know that I need a case, but I will buy that once I can plan out where everything goes in the computer. Please help, and remember that I am rather new to computers, so any links that can help me understand or some information as to what I need to make a computer run and play games would be very helpful. Sorry if I seem very clueless but...well...I am. Someone tell me if I need to clarify something. Computer experts/geeks/nerds or whatever wanted especially please!
Need opinions: Get Macbook Pro for school/some gaming, or go build a custom gaming pc? So my lame HP Dv6000 laptop finally died, and my black Macbook got stolen (another story, got a refund). I'm trying to decide whether to get a Macbook Pro (17 inch) with the 8 hour battery life and all, or go build a custom gaming PC (I love gaming). But I could get a 360 for gaming (mostly CoD:WW and stuff), BUT, I wanna play AION when it launches in September and wanna be able to run it at high settings. (It ran at med to low on my HP) Opinions please!

Where to sell a custom gaming PC? I bought a custom built gaming PC back around Christmas for a little over $1000. It works fine, I just don't enjoy playing much, and I'm a little hooked on it, emphasis on hooked. I think it would be better for me to get rid of it. It plays games such as Skyrim and MW3 in full HD (Ultra) settings without lag. Are there sites other than Craigslist or eBay? I can post the specs if needed.
Advice on a custom Gaming PC build? Hello there all, I'm a 15 year old bored out of his mind kid who lives in the middle of gotdamn nowhere, I love computers, but the only thing getting in my way of pursuing it are funds. Pretty much the only upgrade I've ever gotten is 1 extra gb of RAM for my crappy lil' acer desktop. I'm getting a job this summer and am hoping to make enough dough for a sweet gaming PC build. Something that'll run Portal 2 or New Vegas or hopefully Skyrim when it comes out. Here are the specs from the shopping cart i've made on newegg, please tell me if there are any incompatibilities or conflicting pieces of hardware, or maybe what i could substitute to make it better, cheaper, etc. (my budget is under $1000). thanks alot!: CASE: Rosewill CHALLENGER Black Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case MOBO: ASUS M4A79XTD EVO AM3 AMD 790X ATX AMD Motherboard PROCESSOR: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core POWER SUPPLY: CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V v2.2 SLI MEMORY: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 HARD DRIVE: SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3R HE103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" GRAPHICS: PowerColor AX6850 1GBD5-DH Radeon HD 6850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 OPTICAL DRIVE: HP 24X Multiformat DVD Writer Black SATA Model 1260i LAN CARD: VisionTek Bigfoot Killer 2100 Gaming Network Card Total Price (w/o shipping) is $859.89 USD. Again, thanks! - Sam BTW, I plan on dual booting the latest ubuntu (11.04 i think) with windows 7 home premium. Also, I didn't realize the case had an onboard LAN thingy, thanks for the tip Aaron. And Jerry, I plan to stick with AMD, mostly for the value:performance:price ratio, also, any money saved is going to an HD monitor.

Please look at my custom gaming PC build, need feedback? I've looked at two different builds for a gaming PC's that were updated for October 2011. One was a little under what I wanted to pay and the other was a little over (My budget is around 1500.) So I decided to mix the two and hope there's no compatibility issues. PLEASE POINT OUT ANY ISSUES! Also, if you think there's better choices out now for the parts, please leave a post below. Here it is: Motherboard: ASUS Maximus IV Extreme B3 RoG Edition CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K (Will my GPU get bottlenecked if I get an i5 instead?) CPU Cooler: Corsair CWCH80 Hydro H80 CPU Liquid Cooler (Where would I go about overclocking my CPU to get use out of this?) Is there anything that I might be spending too much money on and not need? Remember, it's a gaming computer and I want it to last at least a year without having to swap out parts. Your feedback would be much appreciated.
My First Custom Build Gaming PC? Any Input and Suggestions On Assembly Would Be Appreciated. Intel e7200 Asus P5Q-E MSI GeForce 9600 GT WD 500GB Caviar Sata Corsair TX 750 PSU LG 22x DVD burner w/Lightscribe OCZ Fatal1ty 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 NZXT Lexa Tower Will probably go with Vista OS, although I am unfamiliar with it as an XP pro user. Thanks for the the Quick Responses and input. Being my first build, I just wanted to build a basic mid level system with capabilities to upgrade fairly easily. Also about Vista, I researched through some forums and the 64 Bit version seems to be giving people a lot of problems. Any comments or Clarifications on this Issue? I also have some 3D modeling programs that I also will be running on this system, and thought I would need the 4GB RAM to allow the Programs to run well with any OS.

How much for a custom built gaming PC? Ok so I live in Australia and I'm trying to get some info as to how much a custom build PC would cost. The only thing I'd like it to be able to do is run basically every game as smooth as possible. More specifically I'd like to Run WoW at a constant 60 fps *whie recording with Fraps". Preferably all on Ultra settings as well. I also use a lot of video programs like C4D, Adobe After Effects, Sony Vegas and I'd like reasonably fast times for those. So all round just a good but quite affordable PC. Also any info as to where I can get the hardware that would be great.
What else do I need to build a custom gaming PC? As it would be the first PC that I ever build, I am worried that I am leaving something out that I need or that some of the parts simply don't work with another. I already have an operating system (windows 7 home premium), a mouse (Razer Mamba), keyboard, and speakers. Need a monitor but I'm only concerned with the tower in this question. I want to build a new PC because of Guild Wars 2 coming, and other games, that I want to play. Currently been playing on an alienware laptop. While it is great, and could play them also, I just think a PC would handle the job without the stress that the laptop would. Problem with video on my custom Gaming PC build? So i am new to building PCs, so the issue may be in the fact that I did not really know what i was doing when compiling my parts. However, all fans are on which leads me to believe that every component is operating correctly and receiving power. I plug my monitor into the DVI outputs on the outside of the video card (using VGA adapters) and no luck. Nothing appears on the monitor screen. Now before I go to far into detail, the minimum requirement for my Video card is 450 watts. My PSU has 400. I figured this was my problem, but the conflicting information is that I didnt really know 100% what I was doing when connecting my drives. So in summary, is my problem solved by getting a new PSU, or by ensuring proper drive connection. Thanks. I have not installed any drivers including the motherboard due to this problem, I have no idea if this effects anything, but just throwing it out there.
Building a custom gaming PC, heeeelp? Hello all! I've grown extremely tired of my old and rusty PC, and with all the recent coming games I just couldn't hold it anymore and thankfully they brought me to finally create a new custom PC build for end-gaming. Although I know just a little bit about hardware, I've never went ahead on this field and thus I never built a PC. I've started by researching and looking for great websites, along with selling ones. I got really confused with different companies producing the same type of product (*Cough* GTX580 *Cough*) but I finally came up with something, but I'm really in a need of help with this! So far, this is exactly on my shopping list: CPU: Core i7 2600k s1155 Power supply: Corsair TX 750W V2 Active PFC 14cm Fan Motherboard: Asus for Intel, P8P67 Pro Memory (RAM): ??? GFX: Asus GTX 580 1536MB (I couldn't find eVGA, could Gigabyte be better?) Sound card: Asus Xonar D2X PCI-E Hard drive: Caviar Green 2TB IntelliPower, 64MB, SATA II WD20EARS Floppy: Samsung 1.4MB (Which is totally the most important part of this system.) Optical writer: DVD±RW GH22NS x22 Black SATA (Oem) Case: ??? Fan: ??? This equals to around 1,200-1,500 pounds, around 2,000 dollars basically, my budget won't go any higher than 2,000 dollars sadly, but if I need to spend about 100 more, then yeah. But I've... kind of got into a confusing and lost in thoughts of decisions. So I got a few questions.. 1. Which memory I should get exactly? I've been recommended around 4GB to 8GB, and I'm aiming for a 4x2 8GB 1600now but I'm not sure about the company. Mushkin, Corsair? Recommendation please? :( 2. Caseeee. Prefomance before appealance, I want the case to suit all the parts with no issues, I don't need any USB sticks but a floppy, a CD and a DVD slot is something I might need. How many fans? That'll be my next question... 3. Fan. I'm not sure exactly which fan, nor company I should even aim for. How many? I've NEVER curious about them so I'm completely clueless, any recommendation would be nice! 4. Is the motherboard alright? Some told me MSI is much better, recommend please? 4. Are all the parts balanced? Is one of them too weak while another is too strong? If there is something that I should update/downgrade, please note! 5. Am I missing something? This is ALL I'm going to order and that's all the parts that will be used. 6. Will all the parts connect? Thankfully I wasn't dumb enough to figure a motherboard for AMD wouldn't fit with a i7, but is there something else that will result this a failure? Thank you so much for taking your time to read, and hopefully you'll help me FINALLY get rid of this old PC. :D!!

Tips on Custom PC Gaming Build? I'm building a computer for the first time, and after a ton of researching these are the part i've come up with. It is going to be used as a Gaming computer(I hope to run games like COD and GTAIV), as well as for video editing with programs (such as After Affects and Sony Vegas) Will these fit together? And are there any better parts that I can substitute in without a large increase in price? Thanks a lot. My first Custom PC Gaming Build - Need opinouns? Alright well this is my first Gaming Build. I basically wanted an entertainment powerhouse for around 2k$ that can play FEAR 2, Crysis, and all that at full setting's with no problem, and be able to watch movies and whatever with awesome sound and video. Am I missing anything? And what do you guy's think, does it all work good together? Will my slot's be enough to hold the Creative Fatility Sound Card and the Killer NIC wireless card together or do I have to choose? Any suggestions or opinion's would be much appreciated, thank you. Is this Custom built Gaming PC worth the price? Found a custom built PC made for gaming at a local pawn shop and wanted to know if the price for it is worth it or what price would make it a great find. They are selling it all for $449.99. The specs are: -Custom Built Gamer's PC w/ Windows XP- M3A78-CM Motherboard (ASUS), AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core processor 5600+MMX 3D now (2 CPUs), 3,328Mb of RAM, Corsair Tx650 Watt power supply, Nvidia Geforce GTX260 Integrated RAMDAC (said BFG Tech on the video card) w/ 896Mb, a really nice wireless mouse, a ZBoard Keyboard, and a flat screen monitor. I really could use a computer period but I'm mainly interested in it for playing a MMO called RIFT coming in March. (If into MMO's should really check it out. Really good game. Played Beta.) The specs are even better than what the game recommends but I'm just concerned with price. Is $449.99 worth it all? What would be considered a good price? I'm more than sure I can talk it down since it's been at this shop for months now and hasn't even been touched I'm sure. Any suggestions or info would be much appreciated. Thanks for reading.
Should i go with a custom built gaming pc, or pre-built for a slightly lower price? I'm just trying to decide which one will give me more bang for my buck. As it stands i'm leaning heavily towards the custom built pc. I'm looking to run some fairly graphics intensive games on relatively high settings. I'll link the pre-built, and list the specs/ hardware for the custom built one. Pre-built: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227333 Custom Made : Case: Thermaltake V9 BlacX Edition Gaming Case - Black Processor: [= Quad Core =] AMD Phenom™ II X4 955 Black Edition Quad-Core CPU Processor Cooling: Liquid CPU Cooling System [AMD] - [Free Upgrade] Standard 120mm Fan Memory: 8 GB [2 GB X4] DDR3-1333 Memory Module Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 - 1.2GB - Single Card Motherboard: [CrossFire] ASUS M4A89TD PRO/USB3 -- AMD 890FX w/ 2x PCI-E 2.0 x16 Motherboard USB / SATA Interface: Motherboard default USB / SATA Interface Power Supply: 800 Watt -- Standard Primary Hard Drive: 1 TB HARD DRIVE -- 32M Cache, 7200 RPM, 6.0Gb/s - Single Drive Optical Drive: [10X Blu-Ray] LG BLU-RAY Reader, DVD±R/±RW Burner Combo Drive - Black Flash Media Reader / Writer: 12-In-1 Internal Flash Media Card Reader/Writer - Black Sound Card: 3D Premium Surround Sound Onboard Network Card: Onboard LAN Network (Gb or 10/100) Monitor: 24" LCD 1920x1080 -- (23.6 viewable) Also the custom built pc inludes a 3 year limited warranty, a mouse, keyboard, and free copy of darksiders. The total without shipping is $1454. So should i go with the custom built option, the pre-guilt, or something entirely different? I'm open to discussion, and welcome any knowledgeable input you throw at me. Thank you! Okay i've made another custom pc now, so just ignore the other one. Case: NZXT Gamma Gaming Case - Black Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-2600K Processor (4x 3.40GHz/8MB L3 Cache) Processor Cooling: Liquid CPU Cooling System [SOCKET-1155 & 1156] Memory: 8 GB [2 GB X4] DDR3-1333 Memory Module Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 - 1.5GB - Single Card Motherboard: MSI Z68A-G43 -- Lucid Virtu Technology Power Supply: 800 Watt -- Standard Primary Hard Drive: 1 TB HARD DRIVE -- 64M Cache, 7200 RPM, 6.0Gb/s - Single Drive Optical Drive: [10X Blu-Ray] LG BLU-RAY Reader, DVD±R/±RW Burner Combo Drive Black Sound Card: 3D Premium Surround Sound Onboard Network Card: Onboard LAN Network (Gb or 10/100) Monitor: 22" LCD 1680x1050 -- Sceptre X220T-Naga The price for this one is $1573, which is a little more than i was looking to spend, but it seems to be a reasonable price. So now the question is, is this setup worth dishing out the extra 200 bucks as compared to the pre-built machine?

I am going to build a custom gaming PC and i was just wondering what some suggestions may be? My price range is around $1500 and i was wondering what your guys' suggestions may be. I am leaning towards AMD for the price/power and getting a higher end ATI card, although i am open to good intel suggestions as long as they don't break my budget. I will be using Newegg.com to buy all the items and i was just wondering if maybe you could email me a cart or post some items on here thanks, my email is Owner_671@yahoo.com. Oh, and i will be primarily playing WoW specific suggestions would be appreciated, thanks =]

iPhone 4 or Custom Gaming PC? i have the option to buy an iPhone 4 16GB White, or a bunch of parts for a custom built Gaming PC Specs of PC: Intel Core i5-750 Quad Intel Motherboard Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 (when it comes out next week) 4GB DDR3 1TB Samsung HD Blu Ray drive Alienware Predator Case Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (i already have it) this will cost about $750 i have tons of experience taking apart/fixing computers, but i've never built one from scratch. i already have a computer. it is a MacBook Pro 13" 2.4Ghz Spring 2010. but it doesn't have a quarter of the gaming performance that the PC will have (i will only use the PC for a few games) and it would mostly be for showing off to my friends (this is why i will get the fancy Alienware case too.) i do not have a Cell Phone (i have an iPod Tocuh) this will be my first Cell phone if i get it. i've seen the iPhone 4, and i have fallen in love with it (the SCREEN is reallyyyyyyyyyy sharp compared to my iTouch) the iPhone bill will be $65/mo. 450mins, 2GB Data, No texting. i'm 14 (turning 15 soon) and this Phone would mostly be for 3G internet use, and talking with my friends... i'm fully capable of paying the bill on my own (i hate those snotty little teens who make their parents pay their $100 phone bills) i don't like texting and if i feel the need to text, i'll use one of the TextPlus Apps on iPhone. Which is more important? (remember i already own a very nice computer) Thanks sure, why not. for $5 more i will get texting

Am I missing something important for it to work and play Games (hopefully powerful)? Is it a good system ? If not, Improve it so- as you like. Do I need to buy cables? Thanky v much Yes sorry- an 8800GT Also so far help is Very informative- Thankyou to everyone!

Help with building custom gaming pc? Ok, im getting a new computer for $500, its a dell inspiron 531. I also have a dell dimension 5100 with 2.5 GB RAM and a EVGA Geforce 8600 gt 512mb video card. So, i dont know much about the pc yet, but its pretty much gonna be for gaming. So i plan on putting in the 8600 gt into the new pc until i get a better card. Also, is my dell dimension RAM compatible with the new inspiron? If not, doesnt matter, it comes with 4GB RAM :) Next, what do i need to upgrade to be able to play most new pc games? I plan on getting a core 2 quad for it. Then later a GTX 260 video card. Will that be enough for gta4 and crysis and such? Also how much will a GTX 260 and a quad core cost? Links to newegg or wherever you know of a great deal would be great. I also suspect i will need a bigger power supply,so what do u guys think i will need? Then, what kind of cooling will i need and how much? Then, i will have a good pc finally and i will JIZZ IN MY PANTS! Thanks in advance!
Help With Building a Custom Gaming PC? Not that I use it for gaming, but I use it for music production/video editing/photo editing. I basically want something FAST because I am SO SICK of my slow-as-molasses emachines (AMD Athlon 64 3500, 160gb hard drive, 512mb ram, 2.2ghz...etc) that I currently use for these purposes. It just cant handle my software! Anyway I went to newegg.com and made a checkout list of all the parts I want to buy... but the only problem is, I don't know if these parts will work together in the case I picked out (hence, this will be the first custom computer I will build). Could someone please tell me if these parts will work together, and if I am missing something to finish completing the PC? Thanks so much! heres the link to my parts check-out page: http://secure.newegg.com/Shopping/ShoppingCart.aspx?Submit=view
I am building a custom gaming PC and need some help? Ok so I decided to build a custom gaming PC and this is my first one meaning i'm not certain on what to do. I think I have ordered everything I need from Newegg, but I don't know if it is compatible. I have a few friends who have done this before and are willing to help me put it together but I am reluctant to ask them for any more help. Therefore I am asking you, could I email you my configuration and you email me any changes let me know via answers so I can give you a best answer and we can continue contact in other ways. Any and all emails will come from and should be sent to stonewalljackman@gmail.com, thank you soo much.
