First gaming PC build? http://pcpartpicker.com/user/pmcammenga/saved/#savedbuild_590277 This is my build I'm planning to do, mainly for gaming. Any thoughts? Any advice? Any criticism? This is my first time building a PC but I do know a lot about them. Also, I don't want you to tell me that I should "do this build," or "use an i7 processor because they're better" or whatever. I just wanna hear your thoughts.
Advice on gaming pc configuration? after looking at various sites for pre built, and seeing some horror stories, i decided to bite the apple and build my own, i have zero experience, however if anyone can give any advice on the matter id greatly appreciate it. parts im going to by (from amazon uk, cos i trust them the most) Corsair Obsidian 650D (i like how it looks) Sapphire 11197-12-40G HD7970 3GB Vapor-X Graphics Card/or gtx 680 id like advice on this. PC Gaming Build Configuration? I am going to build my own PC and I am an above casual gamer but not hardcore. I do not wish to run Vista yet, but I plan to in the future. Also, the computer has to be able to do basic procedures such as browsing the web and Microsoft Office. Please list a complete configuration of the best components to use for maximum performance. Also, the total cost (not including monitor) must be under $1,100. Thank you for the responses. Thank you for the first answer. However, I am changing it a bit and everything together(including case) must be $900 or under. And also, I would rather have a better processor than motherboard. Please include everything with the config you provide, fans, cooler, thermal compund, etc. I am not a computer expert as well so please provide me with any knowledge you hold.

Questions on Building a New Gaming PC? Hi, I’m thinking about building a new gaming PC, and this is what I’m looking at right now: Motherboard: Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe wireless Edition Socket AM2 NvDia nForce 590 Processor: AMD Athlon 64 x2 6000+ Windsor 3.0 GHz Graphic Card: MSI NX GeForce 7900GS 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 Memory: 4 GB Kingston Power supply: Enlight ATX 12V 300 W power supplies Hard drive: 250 GB Seagate SATA Questions: 1. Since I’m building a gaming PC, which motherboard would be better? NvDia nforce 570 or 590? 2. What are your recommendations on the graphic card, and the price range is around $150-$170? 3. Does it matter what brand the Memory is? 4. What other suggestions do you have?
Any issues with these gaming PC builds? Hey guys/girls just a couple questions here, I'm building a really low budget $300 gaming pc for a buddy and can you let me know if you see anything wrong with this build, any bottlenecking going on? Friend's build; AMD athlon ii x2 3.1Ghz CPU MSI mobo, pretty high end dont know the name off the top of my head ATI radeon 4670 4GB ddr3 1333 450w PSU and a 500gb sata 3.0gb/s drive Also I am building a PC for myself aswell and this one is a little more fun ;) phenom ii x2 555 AsRock 870 extreme3 ATI readeon 4350 (reusing from old build till christmas)(no money in budget right now) 4GB ddr3 1600 550w PSU 500gb HDD For my build i plan on keeping the cpu at 2 cores but overclocking to 4.0 or 3.7 so there is no bottleneck being but on my old GPU then for christmas the 6870 will be coming in along with a new heatsink so that x2 can be a x4. Just wanna know what u think about these and what u think my benchmark FPS will be on for all 3 builds (mines split in 2, old configuration and new with new GPU) in 3 games. Dirt 3, portal 2, and the mother of all hardware demanding games, Crysis warhead.

I am looking to build a gaming PC? Well, I am looking to build a good gaming PC. But I have never built one before so I don't know what I will need and what to get. I want this PC to last and to get the job done, But also not to be 2,500 dollars+ I am thinking about getting a alienware PC but from what I hear they cost too much and you can build a better PC for less. I want this PC to play games like world of tanks on high. I want it to play games like Skyrim and Battlefield on normal-high with good FPS and good hard disk space. It should also work for a home PC something that I can do homework on.

Gaming PC Configuration Help!? I've decided that I'm gonna make a gaming rig (when I say 'I'm' I mostly mean my nerd friend who does this professionally) for my boyfriend for christmas. I have a budget of about $950. My boyfriend plays games like F.E.A.R., DA:O, WoW, Starcraft 2, COD, Left 4 Dead, etc. I'm not really tech savvie so I downloaded a blank slate that had a list of the makings of a gaming rig and I just filled in the blanks with different parts that fit my budget. I have no clue if some of these options are redundant, or not the best bang for my buck, or whatever. So basically is this build good, bad, meh, or improveable? What is the best gaming PC available in India? I am planning to buy a hardcore gaming pc but I don't have the time to sit down and build it. Can u suggest any brand where I can customize the desktop or any company which can take specifications from me and make customized gaming desktop for me. I tried researching by myself but could not find any such thing on the internet for India. The customization offered by dell sucksssss big time ..... n i guess gaming platforms in india also suckk big time. The budget is near 1,20,000

What is everything i need to build a gaming PC? I was going to buy a gaming PC, but i was told it was cheaper to buy the parts and put it together myself. I'm not a pro but i have somewhat experience with computers. I just need to know what exactly i need to buy and where i can get them for cheap. My budget is around $500. Thanks for the help.
What is a cheap PC configuration nowadays that can max out Crysis smoothly? I want a cheap PC configuration, that can max out Crysis on very high with anti aliasing, on 1080p resolution (16:9), running smoothly always above 50fps. Please help.
What are the steps in building a good gaming PC? I'm looking online and I think it will be cheaper to biuld from a cutom computer place and I want to know the best things you need in a good gaming PC. example: processer, memory ect.
What are the dangers in building your own computer? I'm not the most computer savvy person, and was just wondering the dangers of building your own pc not knowing all the parts and what they look like? From the information i've gathered, you can get a better deal building it yourself rather than buying a prebuilt, which is why I want to build one. I basically want a good budget gaming pc. Any help is appreciated.
How can I build a computer that can run any game as good as a console? I'm wanting to build my first gaming PC. I have a cap of 1200$ but I would really prefer to go much lower than that. (Considering I'm having to scrape up every dime of it by Scrap Metal and Selling things on Craigs list) I'm pretty lost. I am wanting to plug this computer into my 32" TV for gaming and movies. The games I want to play are N64 Emulator SNES Emulator NES Emulator Sega Emulator MineCraft Assassin's Creed Skyrim Battlefield 3 COD Black ops 2 (All COD games) Portal 1 and 2 Left for Dead 1 and 2 Indie Games (Like Slender, Luna Games, Ao oni, etc) I want it to play HD Movies/Video preferably my Blu Rays. --------------------------------------… I'm wanting to go with a i7 Intel processor and 16 Gig of ram and the case is Coolermaster Haf 922m. The rest I am lost on. I don't know WHICH i7 processor I need. I don't know WHAT Motherboard is best, I haven't got the first idea on what to look for in a Video card or how much to go on one or if I need a Sound Card. I don't know how much I really need to spend to get what I want. So could somebody help a little? and I'm BUILDING this. I want to learn, so I am not going to buy a prebuilt. Starrysky: The Emulators are not the problem. My 5 year old Compaq with 2 gigs of ram and the lowest end AMD processor made runs N64 (The most demanding) emulator perfectly fine. PERFECTLY fine. The Emulator's are not my issue.
What Motherboard should I get for this configuration? I have this CPU AMD FX-6350 and I plan to buy this GPU: Radeon HD 7850 1GB(the 2GB version is too expensive). I want to build a gaming PC..I know this aren't the best ones but that's what I have money for. Back to my question, what motherboard would work best for my CPU and GPU?
What is an optimised build configuration for an assembled desktop PC meant for design & illustration? Hi, While I haven't done this before, but with an average understanding of computer peripherals and some help with figuring out hardware, I wish to assemble a desktop PC on a budget of ₹ 50,000-55,000 (Approx. $ 797-877) that will be used for illustration and graphic design. I'm in close proximity of Lamington Road, Mumbai, so sourcing parts should not be a problem. It would help if you could also suggest a pen-tablet (stylus) for mid to professional level use. I've checked out Wacom & iBall websites for their pen-tablets but cannot decide between the two. How do they compare? Should I compromise somewhere in the budget of the PC build, ditch iBall, and invest in a Wacom model? Web browsing, Skype/Hangouts telephony, word processing and number crunching, not-so-hardcore gaming are other tasks I'll be using the PC for. As of 2013, what config. works best for the above purposes?
Are these good specs for a gaming PC that I plan to build? Hi im planning to build a gaming pc and was wondering if this configuration would be good? Is it possible to set up raid 0 configuration with 4 hard drives? I just want to build an awesome gaming pc with at least 8 tb
When Choosing RAM Should you get 1x8GB 2x4GB or 4x2GB Sticks? I am building a computer for Rendering/Gaming and was wondering what the configuration of the RAM should be, from what I have heard you do not want 4x2GB Sticks because it puts the most strain on your motherboard. 2x4GB Sticks is good but if you have four ram slots, it leaves you at an upgrade to 16GB max without throwing your RAM away. And an 8GB Stick is about 25% More than 2x4GB Making your PC Build cost more if you are on a budget. Any help would be nice!

What are some various gamepad models for PC gaming? By "gamepad", I am referring to the style of peripheral which is a section of a keyboard, usually for FPS-type PC gaming. One example of what I seek is something like the Belkin Nostromo N52 gamepad. I was just curious if there are other models out there, possibly of better quality or design, to think about purchasing. Thanks.

How long would this gaming pc configuration stay up to date? I plan on building a pc and might spend around 2000 if it will stay up to date. It will have a core i7 4770k that will be liquid cooled by corsair h100i and oc to 4.5ghz. I will have a 4gb winforce gtx 770 from nvidia.and later I will put another in for sli to (update it later when price comes down a little ) it will have 16gb 1600mhz ddr3 ram. Help me choose the best parts to build a computer build? Lately I have been thinking about building a computer rig. I decided to use a forum post to do so. 1. What is the purpose of the computer? (Note: If you are planning to say multimedia, you will have to be more specific as all types of systems are capable of doing that) Programming. - Visual Studio 2012, Microsoft Office 2012, Compiling, Graphics, Adobe Master's Collection ( Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Fireworks ). Very very little gaming will be done. This rig is not intended to be a gaming rig. 2. Are you open to alternate ideas/products giving similar better performance but offering more VFM / sellers? If not- why? Yes 3. What is your MAX budget? 3000 dollars 4. Planning to overclock? Maybe. I heard that overclocking on processors wear them down. Don't know if it's good to overclock. 5. Which OS are you planning to use? Windows 7 Professional 6. How much hard drive space is needed? 2 TB 7. What resolution will the screen run at & whats the size of the screen you want? If you already want have one and want to use it, mention its resolution and size. Screen resolution: 2560 x 1440 WQHD, 27 inch 8. How would you rate your hardware knowledge from the count of 1-10? (1 being the lowest, 5 being you are somewhat in sync with the current performers and 10 being the highest) 8 9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler? Done by an assembler 10. When are you planning to buy the system? 3 week 11. Are you one of the types looking out for "future proof" configurations? No 12. Are there going to be any components that you don't want to include in this new rig? If yes, do mention. i3 and i5 processors 13. Which city do you live in and are you open to buying from shops from other city/states? USA and want to buy parts in the USA

Is there a way to build a Gaming Laptop rather than a huge desk top? Okay, so I have a small house; and my parents occupy a larger portion of it than they should, and until I can move out for a few more years, I want to do my gaming and YouTubing needs on a good laptop, for I do NOT have the space for a desktop PC. So, of course, my question is asking if there is a way to build a gaming laptop. If not, I would appreciate a re-direction to some good RAM cards that I can install into my PC. XP computer: What might be the minimal requirements to accomplish the following combination of tasks? My computer is so lame, I can't even do the following combination of tasks without stutter, lag, off-syncness, etc... Do you think doubling my RAM would do it? How could one possibly know how much computer it could take? It's one of them old Dell XPs that had onboard video (video card built into motherboard). 2.39 GHz 512 MB RAM 100 GB HD etc... I have AVG installed. Utilize Mozilla Firefox, having around 6 extensions and 6 plug ins, (like videodownloadhelper and adblock plus), to surf videos on Youtube. Another tab or two or three or four or five could be open on Yahoo articles for me to comment on. Utilize WMP, along with the Standard K-Lite Codec Pack to play video files which had been downloaded from Youtube with the videodownload helper. Yeah, even that little bit is too much.

I want to build a gaming PC for 600-700 dollars. Is it worth it? I am considering spending some money on a gaming PC, but my budget is only about $700. Is it worth it to invest in one or should I wait a long while to save up some money for a better one? (I am not looking for extreme power but something that will run things at mid-high configuration for at least 5 years). Also, this would be my first time building a PC by myself, and while I have some ideas for what I want to do, could anyone suggest a good build for the price? I want something that will hold up for an amount of time and would be upgradable.
Can someone make me the best gaming pc configuration fo $850 and under (including shipping)? I don't care what website you use but I can't build it myself so I prefer to have it put together before hand. Do not include a monitor I will be getting one elsewhere. This pc will be used for gaming and recording gaming. And remember, please keep it under $850 including shipping.

What is a pretty good Gaming PC configuration from CyberPower, or other PC Building sites? Well, I'm pretty bad at this stuff. I have a max budget at around 1.2k, can go a little over. I want to run games like Crysis 2 (I'm putting that as my example for the graphical part) well, I want to run those graphics with good frames you know. Right now I have a Laptop...and It's pretty bad. Haha, I want it to be put together already, I don't want to take the risk to make it by myself. I don't care what it looks like. Please include a decent Mouse/Keyboard , and just the cheapest headset. Best and Cheapest (With explanations) Get's best answer! Will add extra details to answer your questions.

Best gaming PC configuration for $2000? I'm looking to buy a gaming PC so i can move away from console gaming forever. I want to be able to play games like Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Fallout New Vegas, and Mass Effect 3 on high settings, possibly even with extreme texture and photorealistic mods. The thing is, I only want to spend around 2000 USD. I've looked at the Alienware Aurora and configured it with the following specs: Processor- Intel® Core™ i7-3820 Overclocked up to 4.1GHz Memory- 8GB Quad Channel DDR3 at 1600MHz Video Card(s)- 1.25GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 560 Ti HDD- 2TB RAID 0 (2x 1TB SATA 6Gb/s) 7,200RPM Sound Card- Creative Sound Blaster® X-Fi™ Xtreme Audio Optical Drive- Single Drive: Dual Layer Blu-ray Reader OS- Windows 7 Home Premium Chasis- Alienware Aurora with ALX Chassis Keyboard- Alienware Multi-Media Keyboard Mouse- Alienware Optical Mouse, MG100 Price: $1,894.00 USD Is this a good deal? And will this configuration be able to preform at the level I need? Or could i make a more powerful computer for less money if i built it from the ground up? If so please point me in the right direction for what i need to be looking for because i'm very new to this, and I don't want to waste my hard earned money on a overpriced piece of equipment.
Best Gaming PC Configurations for $1000? I am looking to buy a gaming PC (desktop) and my budget it $1000. What are the best configurations i can get? I am not looking to build my own pc. Suggest me a configuration of a budget gaming and multimedia pc in India? My budget is 30K to 35K. Do suggest me a configuration to build a pc including every thing needed. I will use this to play games like gta, cod, igi, prince of persia, fifa, nfs and watch movies. Monitor should not be under 22 inches. I already asked this previously but the answer was stupid. Please give me a proper configuration within my budget. I don't need a huge hdd. Processor should be able to play all those games mentioned. I want all the things including monitor, key board, mouse, ups, cabinet, dvd drive, processor (should be intel),proper motherboard and all the other things. Enlist them with their actual price in india. Do not suggest me any stupid os like vista or 7. I know xp is old but still powerful enough to run every thing i want. UI IS NOT A GREAT PROBLEM FOR ME. DO NOT GIVE ANY ANSWER WITHOUT READING THE ABOVE. Be patient and read it and then give me the proper answer. Best answer will be given 10 points.

Help building a midlevel gaming PC? I know building my PC is much cheaper, but I really don't have the time to order all the parts, put it together and such, and I found this guy on Ebay who can build you a PC from the list of options he has. Could you please build me the best from his options? I'll leave a link for an intel and an AMD, so you can see which one can give me the best bang for my buck. I'm going to be playing Call of Duty 4, possibly crysis (i know it's hard to run), and other first person shootersd. I'd like to be able to run these on high graphics and smoothly if possible. I was wondering if you could build the best combo for under $500. It's free shipping, and I won't have to pay for tax so what he shows is the actual price. When you're done, you actually click build configuration, and it gives you a link to a new listing. He has a couple other listings too, that offer slightly different options if you'd rather pick from them. Thanks guys! Help building a Gaming PC? Hi! I'm thinking of building an Intel Configuration based high end gaming PC, but I don't know if my chosen components are compatible with each other. This is my build. CPU: Intel i7 920 GPU: Nvidia GeForce 295GTX Mainboard: ASUS P6T Deluxe V2, X58, Socket-1366 Chassi: Cooler Master HAF 932 – Black HDD: Western Digital Caviar® GreenPower™ 1TB Optical Driver: "any random bluray/dvd burner" Memory Card: Corsair XMS3 minne PSU: Corsair HX1000W I also need to know: - If this rig is capable of playing Crysis in Ultra settings, still get enough FPS. - If I could use SLI on the chosen motherboard. - If this Intel based PC is worth the bucks, or should i get AMD. (Also, if you say AMD then please write the components for a AMD config). - If I should change any components. I want a future proof system. btw: I'm not gonna buy everything in one day, I'll take time and build up.

Which RAID configuration is best to use in a gaming PC? I'm going to build a PC and was wondering for RAID configuration. I'm going to have 3 (or 4, depends on RAID) drives. I'm currently looking at: RAID0 for 2 drives, plus an additional backup/storage drive OR RAID5 with 3 drives (can you do it with 3, or does it have to be 4? Every illustration I've seen has 4 drives) OR RAID0+1 with 4 drives. Of course this is a tad bit more expensive than the other methods since it requires another drive. TIA Heat is not an issue. Still though, what about 0+1? Any benefits to that?
What is the absolute best configuration you can get for a gaming PC? I need to build the fastest gaming PC, and we have to assume that anything is possible for any amount of money. I was thinking this: Intel Core i7 965 Extreme Edition MSI Eclipse x58 Mobo Patriot Viper Tri Channel 6GB PC10666 DDR3 2 4970x2's and 2 WD Raptors in RAID 0 with a 1.5 TB backup drive is that sufficient, or can I do better? I am buying, and building this for a late Christmas. Thanks!

I am primarily going to use this desktop for gaming, HD video editing, and music software like FL studio. Is there anything I need to change or add to my config? Thanks
I am building a custom gaming PC and need some help? Ok so I decided to build a custom gaming PC and this is my first one meaning i'm not certain on what to do. I think I have ordered everything I need from Newegg, but I don't know if it is compatible. I have a few friends who have done this before and are willing to help me put it together but I am reluctant to ask them for any more help. Therefore I am asking you, could I email you my configuration and you email me any changes let me know via answers so I can give you a best answer and we can continue contact in other ways. Any and all emails will come from and should be sent to stonewalljackman@gmail.com, thank you soo much.
New gamin pc configuration? I am planning to do a new gaming build with i5 2500k,gigabyte P67UD7 mobo and gtx 570.I was pretty satisfied with the config till I came to know that x68 is coming with pcie 3.0 slots which wil double the gpu bandwidth and will operate on 8gbps instead of 5 gbps on pcie 2.0.So I am a bit confused wat to do? should I wait for it or proceed wit the current config? The release date also not known to meot known to me
Ideas for graphics on a gaming PC? I am wondering what the best route would be on building a decent gaming PC. I am a computer guy and know how to assemble it, but with the increase in technology lately, I am sort of worried if I should go the SLI route, what the benefits of that would be vs. getting just one very good graphics card, and what type of power requirements I can expect the gaming PC to take. Right now my current system is a mid-tower PC, with a Phenom x3 processor, 4GB of RAM, 400W power supply, and a Geforce GT240 graphics card. I am currently running "Dragon Age" "The Witcher" "Final Fantasy 14" and "Oblivion" at pretty high settings. FF14 takes up the most graphics power, but I can still run that at standard/high settings without problems. Though I know with the new Skyrim game coming out, and the new Dragon Age, and whatever lies beyond I will need something that will have more power. I am planning the current configuration for my new system: Asus M4n75TD SLI Motherboard (nForce 750A) 8GB of RAM (can support 16GB in the future) Pehnom II X4 Black Edition 3.2Ghz (Can support X6 in the future) Windows 7 64-Bit 600W Power Supply Seagate 1TB hard drive Graphics - Undecided With the idea of current and future gaming in mind, Should I invest in one very good graphics card, two very good graphics cards (which will mean more power and more heat), or two very decent yet not as good as one good graphics card (overall more than one good graphics card, less heat and power used.) I also don't want to spend too much on a graphics card, either $300 for one good one or $150 each on two to SLI. Could anyone explain to me what exactly you would suggest and why? I don't care about every single little pixel in the game being it's best ever or I'm going to cry, but I would at least like the games to look good and run very smoothly as they were intended. Thanks.

PC: Build from scratch, or Buy from Dell? I was interested in buying a new PC, however I am relatively familiar with hardware, i.e. I can take all the major components out of a working PC and reconnect them all to a proper configuration. However, I have never installed or uninstalled a power supply or any component on the motherboard itself. I have a good idea of how computers work and I can troubleshoot a little bit, for example I figured out I had a bad RAM stick and replaced it. Am I better off buying a PC from a major company, or can I build a comparable PC for much cheaper with relatively low risk factor? FYI the computer I am thinking about buying is a Dell Inspiron 570, and the aspect that made me consider building my own is that they offer to upgrade from Athlon II X2 to an X3 (triple core) for 80 dollars. Well the X3 processor only costs about 75 dollars by itself. Right now all i need is a decent rig for school stuff, music, and surfing the web, but in the future I want to be reasonably able to make upgrades for gaming. Here is the stats of the Inspiron I customized on the Dell site: PROCESSORAMD Athlon™ II X3 Processor 435 (2.9GHz, 1.5M, 3C) OPERATING SYSTEMGenuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64Bit, English MICROSOFT SOLUTIONSMicrosoft® Office Starter: reduced-functionality Word & Excel w/ ads. I also couldn't opt out of the McAfee or the DataSafe. I dont want to spend more than 500, but I also don't want to get ripped off by Dell. If I can build a comparable PC or a slightly better one for a lesser cost please let me know and give me a good idea of what I should be looking for in a motherboard. Thanks.
Now that I know RDRam cannot be replaced...? ...I need a system that will significantly increase my MMORPG play online. I get significant lag from World of Warcraft while playing online and the expansion is about to come out which will require more minimum requirements to run than the original. Also, Battlefield 2 won't even run without lag every 3 to 5 seconds happening. I need a gaming PC configuration that I can build that can confidiently run these games. Please Help!

Want to Build a PC for home? Folks, Can any body help me with the best configuration I can get for around 20K at Bangalore. Would like to have decent configuration which can play videos plus bit of gaming and photo/video editing. Thanks
Custom Gaming Computer configuration, any suggestions? A few weeks ago i was told that the following configuration is good for a $1500 budget, i was wondering if this is the best configuration for the budget, and if it is not, how would you have it done differently. Also, do you think i might have any hardware compatibility issues or no. Thank You in advance for your time and advice. Processor: Intel Core i7 950 $280 RAM: Corsair Dominator 1600MHz 6GB $150 Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth x58 LGA1366 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 $180 HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 7200RPM 1TB 6Gb/s (The 6Gb/s is cheaper than the 3Gb/s, and the motherboard supports SATA 6Gb/s.) $90 Blu-ray: Lite-on 8x Blu-ray Combo SATA (Reads Blu-ray's and reads and burns to CD's and DVD's ) $50 Water Cooling: Corsair H70 (Generally, water cooling is better than air cooling.) $100 Sound (optional): Creative 7.1 SoundBlaster X-Fi Titanium (The motherboard has built-in 7.1 audio) $100 Power Supply (you forgot this one :D): Corsair TX650 (650w is enough for your system.) $80 Case: Antec 300 Illusion Mid Tower $70 Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium (i already have this) Sapphire ATI Radeon HD5970 HD 5970 2GB PCI-E Video Card $540 PS I would want this pc mainly for gaming, so i would prefer a rig that would not need any upgrading for at least 2 years
What is a good costume pc build? Whats your build? I want to build my own computer. I basically am looking for a good home entertainment computer that can burn and watch blue ray dvds but high end gaming ability would be a nice plus as well. I want to get the most bang for my buck but with high end performance. Any suggestions? Whats your set up? Anyone know any good costume build websites? I personality would like to spend anywhere from 400-1000$. Any help understanding configuration/compatibility and the quality of parts would be excellent. Thanks for your responses. Power Supply Unit: Coolermaster Extreme Power Plus 500W Case: Thermaltake VF6000BWS MicroATX Case or Antec Sonata III 500 Quiet Super Mini Tower ATX Case/with fan HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drives -Bare Drive Ram: 4-6gb from ? Brand? (If its worth it to get 6 vs 4) Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 LGA775 Blueraydrive: not sure but I would love one that burns blue ray dvds/cds/regdvds and is under 200$ Hey guys thanks for your responses, here is some more detail. For case I really like the Thermaltake VF6000BWS MicroATX Case it looks cool, with that Coolermaster Extreme Power Plus 500W would I need any additional fans, also is it easy to install componenets with this case?(I am an amateur) As far as processors go I was leaning towards the Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 LGA775, is there a reason the intel i5 or intel i7 would be a better choice(note I have little to no knowledge of overclocking). As far as ram goes I wouldn’t mind springing for 6gb because it is cheap, is there a good brand, one that give you the most bang for your buck? As far as graphic cards goes the 512MB Nvidia Geforce 9800GT seems good but is there one that really works well with blue ray? I believe my friend can hook me up with a good operating systems so which one do you think would be good? I was thinking windows 7 64 bit. I also would love to get a blue ray/cd/dvd writer. . Kyle you mentioned I could get one for under 200$ or maybe even 150$, do you personally have any you would suggest? As far as motherboards go, I don’t know much about them but I have been on this website http://www.mysuperpc.com/ and there it was suggested that a GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel was good bang for your buck, so that is what I am leaning toward. I found this hdd Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 7200rpm SATA 300 MB/s on that website as well. It seems good. It’s a little more expensive than the hitachi (109$vs89$), do you think it will be worth it for the price? Are there any compatibility problems I may not be seeing? Thanks for all your help, I appreciate you taking the time to answer. Here is what I am looking at, feel free to let me know what you think. Videocard: 512MB Nvidia Geforce 9800GT? Will this fully take advantage of the other hardware? Soundcard: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Sound Card Are any of these parts to modern and not worth the extra money? I am trying to get the max per spending. Am I making any major mistakes here? Are these pieces compatible? Will they fit the case? Any help would be excellent.
What do u think about this pc configuration? I have built a computer for gaming purpose and as i was really pressed on money side....i built it quite cheap... AMD athlon dual core 64 x2 2.2 GHz 4200+ Asus motherboard M2N VM DVI(geforce 7050PV/ nforce 630a) MSI nvidia geforce 9600GT-OC Transcend DDR2 RAM 2GB 667MHz 550W power supply etc. I haven't played crysis yet but i hope i'll be able to play it without trouble. How long do u think this system can hold me?
Will my new PC max out Crysis? I just got finished building a gaming PC, and was wondering if I could max out Crysis at 1900x1080 resolution with it. SPECS: Athlon II X4 620 Quad Core OC to 3.1GHz per core 6GB OCZ PC12800 DDR3 Gaming RAM (1600MHz) Dual NVidia GeForce 9800GTs (1024MB GDDR3) in SLI Configuration Two 500GB 7200RPM SATA II HDDs in RAID0 Configuration So, can it?
What is more important? Hello. I am building a gaming PC so I don't know what is more important to have. Is it ASUS Crosshair IV Formula FX890, Socket AM3 motherboard with AMD Phenom II x6 1090T 3.2GHz and 9800GT 1024mb VRAM(if I get this video card then I will upgrade it next year to some new nVidia) or ASUS M4A79XTD EVO AMD 790X Socket AM3 motherboard with AMD Athlon II X4 635 2.9GHz and EVGA GTX 480 (and If I get this I will upgrade to the new AMD CPU next year). So I either get the best AMD Processor and best ASUS AM3 socket motherboard that is аvailable now or I get the best nVidia Graphic card that is аvailable now. Which is really hard decision. Oh and, pleas do not tell me get ATI HD 5850... HD 5870... I know they are good graphic cards too... but I want to use nVidia. And I do know that the HD 5870 has a bit lower FPS than the GTX 480, and that its cheaper for 100$ but if I go for better CUP and motherboard the next year I am going to get nVidia video card. Nothing against ATI graphic cards I have used the ATI Radeon X1300 512mb VRAM and even 4 - 5 years of use I was able to play games like Crysis Warhead, Far Cry 2, Modern Warfare 2 and Assassins Creed on low-medium and high-medium settings which is really good for that old graphic card. The rest of my OLD PC configuration is 1gb DDR2 800MHz, Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz and ASUS P5VD2-X motherboard socket LGA 775. So I need help around building new pc and I need your opinion... about what should I pick. Peace :-) P.S. I want to overclock but I want to play games at highest quality.
Setting up hardware RAID configuration on a new PC? I'm planning on getting this ASUS P5Q Pro motherboard: http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?modelmenu=2&model=2269&l1=3&l2=11&l3=709&l4=0 It has these two specs: - 6x SATA 3Gb/s - Intel® Matrix Storage Technology with RAID 0, 1, 5 10 support Marvell 88SE6111 I have't played with RAID in the past, but when I build this new PC, I want to have two 750Gb hard drives in RAID 1 (mirror) configuration. I also want to install Windows Vista with a small system C: partition for the OS and a larger partition for files, music, games, etc. My question for those who may have done this is: Do I need to setup anything with RAID prior to installing Windows Vista for the first time and creating the partitions? I like to think the RAID mirror config will be pretty much plug n play letting me just flip a switch in the bios to start it before loading Vista.
Suggest me some good pc games under my PC requirements. I have no external graphics card.? my pc configuration - Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.26GHz Memory: 632MB RAM DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c Display Devices --------------- Card name: Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller Manufacturer: Intel Corporation Chip type: Intel(R) 82845G Graphics Controller DAC type: Internal Display Memory: 64.0 MB
